Brussels Livestock report Beef veal reaches $121 on strong active trade The sales al Brussels Livestock for the week ending Oct. 25 were: fed cattle, 845; cows, 400; veal and bob calves, 598; lambs and goats, 183; Stockers, 3,379. Fed steers and heifers sold on a steady trade. Cows were also $85.93 with sales to $88.75. There were 350 heifers on offer selling from $84 to $88 to the high of $96. Sixty-four heifers consigned by Stan Francis, Kirkton, averaging 1,148 lbs. sold for an average of $87.67 with sales selling steady. Veal sold on a strong active trade. Lambs were selling on a steady active trade. All classes of stockers sold steady. There were 443 steers on offer selling from $84 to $88 to the high of $96. Thirty-two steers consigned by Murray Shiell, Wingham, averaging 1,402 lbs. sold for an average of $87.78 with sales to $96. Thirteen steers consigned by Schmidt Brook Farms Inc., Woodstock, averaging 1,411 lbs. sold for an average of $89.82 with sales to $95.
