Boards plan contest for new school district logo, motto Obituaries CLARK SHARPIN Clark Sharpin of Wroxeter passed away in Listowel Memorial Hospital on Friday, Sept. 26, 1997. He was 78. Bom in Grey Twp., Mr. Sharpin was the son of the late Ward Sharpin and Mae King. A veteran who served in Belgium in World War II, Mr. Sharpin was employed early in his career with Wroxeter Pen Mill, Shantz and Hicks Con­ struction and G.W. Gibson Con­ struction. Later, he operated a service sta­ tion in Wroxeter. After retirement he sold used furniture as a pastime. Mr. Sharpin was a member of Wroxeter United Church. Mourning his passing most deeply is his wife the former Ruth McKercher, his daughter Linda Hopper of Lucknow and his son Jim of Gorrie. He was the beloved grandfather of Scott, Stacy, Craig, Jaime, Julie and Travis and great­ grandfather of Randi. Mr. Sharpin was predeceased by his parents, a sister Ila Paulin, an infant sister, Rita and an infant brother Roy. He rested at McBumey Funeral Home, Wingham on Saturday, Sept. 27. Funeral services were held there, Sunday, Sept. 28 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Jeff Hawkins offici­ ating. Pallbearers were Cameron Edgar Gary Chambers, John Wilhelm, John McKercher, Scott Sharpin and Travis Hopper. Carrying floral trib­ utes were Lynn Gregory and Jeff Killiam. As expressions of sympathy donations to the Lung Association or Huron County CCAC (Home­ care) would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. FRANK ECKENSWILLER Frank Eckenswiller of Belgrave passed away on Wednesday, Sept.. 24, 1997. He was 76. Francis Louis Eckenswiller was bom in Hanover. He was the son of the late John Eckenswiller and the former Sarah Spielmacher. He was a member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church. Mr. Eckenswiller was the beloved husband of the former Vida Liebold. He was the dear father of Wayne and Lorraine of Mount Forest, Kenneth, John and Debbie, Joe and Sandy all of Alber­ ta, Jane Hewitt of Kitchener, Fay and Hessy Daum of St. Pauls and Lois and Ted Surridge of Belleville. He was the loving broth­ er of Marie Matheson. Twenty-two grandchildren and 13 great-grand­ children are also left to mourn the passing of a dear grandfather. Besides his parents, Mr. Eck­ enswiller was predeceased as well by a brother, Walter. Visitation was held at the McBumey Funeral Home in Wing­ ham on Friday, Sept. 26. Funeral services were held at the funeral home on Saturday. Father Ron Par- quette officiated. Carrying Mr. Eckenswiller to his final resting place in St. Augustine Cemetery were Ted Surridge, Rod Daum, Kelly Daum, Cliff Eck­ enswiller, John Hewitt and Wayne Eckenswiller.
