Home needed for exchange students An urgent appeal to the community for volunteer host families is being issued by Youth For Understanding Canada. There are still eight exchange students, four girls and four boys waiting to hear if they will have the opportunity to come to Canada for a year to study and learn first hand what it is like to live in a new culture. The students are from Finland, Denmark, Germany, Australia and Ecuador, all speak English and are between the ages of 15 and 18. All of them are excellent students and have a variety of interests in sports, music and academic studies. All the students are ambassadors chosen by their countries and eager to learn about Canada, said Co ordinator Diane Hahn. Host families are volunteers who are willing to share their home and their heart with one of these students for 11 months by providing them with a room and meals and the companionship of their family and friends.
