Mrs. Dodds. In Miss Mather's room
we always played "Around the
World". You can remember how
smart you felt when you won and
rose above the class. We all learned
lots of math that year. Grade 2 soon
passed by, and then we were
moving up.
Miss Mathers had to teach and
put up with us again in Grade 3. For
the people who were in Miss
Mather's class before, everything
seemed the same, except for
Steven's ketchup sandwiches.
Grade 4 came along and our class
had split again. This time some of
us moved down to the senior end to
hit the books with Mr. Kerr, the rest
remained with Mrs. Dodds.
In Grade 5 we were finally
together again with Mr. Kerr as our
teacher. It was a good time for us
and a rather tough time for Mr.
Kerr. He taught us lots of neat
things like sewing and made sure
that we were behaving. Grade 5 was
very educational.

question 12 in math.
Who could forget when Eileen
Exel was about to sit down and
Stephen Todd pulled her chair out
from under her? Just recently Rob
McKercher came to school with a
black eye and everyone called him
Quazie Motto from The Hunchback
of Notre Dame.
In Grade 7 Cody Nichol was
obsessed with Spiderman or Spidey
as he called him. Remember when
Lance McLellan and Nicole Lowe,
in Grade 3, fought over who got to
be the cow in Jack and the
Beanstalk?
Mike Bernard used to always
compete on who could write the
longest story in Grade 2. Ever since
we can recall, Sarah Little was
always called little Sarah. Who
could forget when Mike Walker
wanted to join the skipping club.
And then there's Chris Coulter
who says that he has no recollection
of his elementary school years at all
but we remember that he was
always hungry at five to 12. And
lastly, remember when Tim
Harrison asked Shannon White to
many him in Grade 5?
It's important to know where
we've been, but it's also important to
know where we are going. When
we get to high school I'm sure that
we will have many more memories
to add to our collection. But never
will we forget the times that we've
shared here at Brussels Public
School.
We’ve done so much throughout
the years,
But now the end is drawing near.
So as we go our separate ways,
We won't forget the good old days.
On behalf of the graduating class
I would like to thank everyone for
preparing us for the future.
years to the top! Once again we're
all together. We had plenty of
teachers including: Mr. Scott, Mrs.
Gross, Mr. Bartlett, Mrs. Daer and
Miss Reed. It is a good thing we
had so many teachers because we
were a very active class. Whenever
the teacher wasn't looking
something was flying across the
room. I think the teachers were
looking forward to sending us to
Grade 7 with Mr. Fisher in charge.
One more year! That was it. We
all had seemed to mature and grow
because we all looked different. Mr.
Fisher handled us very well. He
even took us to Canada's
Wonderland and the CN tower,
where Julie found out how scary
roller coasters really were and what
they did to you. Grade 7 was one
real roller coaster ride.
Well we made it. After all those
years being at the bottom we had
climbed up the mountain of public
school. We would now be the head
of the school, the leaders and the
people everyone looked up to
(except for the teachers). Grade 8
was the last step until high school
and Mr. Bartlett had the privilege to
teach us. The most common words
that Mr. Bartlett said were, "Jason
what is so amusing about math?" or
"Jess would you like to share that
with the class?"
But most of all "Does anyone
know were Steve is?"
Mr. Bartlett seemed to have a way
of making long history lessons fun.
Nothing seemed to be boring
(except for math).
We all enjoyed our trip to Quebec
and being able to stay up as late as
we wanted to. The weird thing
about it was that Mr. Bartlett was
the last one to go to sleep. I wonder
why?
Grade 8 seemed to go by so fast. I
think it was because it was so much
fun. I still can't believe it's all over -
nine years at East Wawanosh and to
high school we go.
First, to all the teachers and staff
we would all like to say thank you
for teaching us the things we needed
and showing us that we were special
and also to all the parents who have
helped out through all the years and
who have given us encouragement.
Lastly to my fellow classmates
who will move on to high school:
we have made it! We have grown to
appreciate each other and have
formed long lasting friendships. We
can do it! We can take the leap into
high school together. We can follow
our dreams and meet new people.
We will look back to the memories
of public school as we move
forward. We will progress together
as we have for the last nine years.
We are the graduating class of
1977.
Seaforth year full of achievement

morning person.
With Joanna's intelligence and
wonderful smile she will succeed at
anything she chooses and with
Stacey's flair she would make a
great interior decorator.
Now for myself, my future will be
pretty short if I don't quit talking, so
I wish my classmates all the best in
whatever they choose to do. I would
like to on behalf of the class of 97,
thank all our teachers for the
support, knowledge, and guidance
throughout our Grey Central years.
A special thank you to Mr. C. for
preparing us for high school. Your
good humour made the schoolwork
easier to handle. The homework on
the other hand is another story.
A special thanks also to our
parents for all the love and support.
Finally to end my speech I would
like to thank all of my fellow
students for allowing me to be your
class valedictorian. It has been a
privilege and an honour. I would
like you all to remember one thing'
... because it would be a shame to
forget everything. Thank you
everyone.

Halfpenny, a mathematic genius,
showed us what she could really do
when she took the Gauss
Mathematic challenge and scored
very high. Also in Grade 7 Joe
Kamerman, the next Michael
Jordan, came to our school to show
our little town what basketball
really was.
In Grade 8 we also had a spring
play, where Matt Smale played Mr.
Peebody, Josh Horst played Lloyd,
and Paul Poisson played Randy.
You knew it was going to be a very
interesting play. I bet you don't
remember when Joey Tunney
brought his twin brother and sister
in for a visit. They were so cute.
Grade 8 was also filled with
achievement. With* Amanda
McClory, president and David
Ludwig, vice, I just knew we were
going to have a successful year.
And with Stephanie Giller's poem to
put it over the top, I would have to
say this has been a pretty wonderful
year.
And let us not forget the real
reason we are graduating, because if
it wasn't for the teachers we
wouldn't be here. They are the ones
who have taught us since we were
little. They are the ones who made
the difference. From home room
teachers to Phys Ed teachers, to
French teachers to music teachers,
they have all helped us become
what we are today and on behalf of
the graduates. I would like to say,
thank you for all your help and
devotion.
As we go our separate ways, we
need to continue to build our self
confidence, exercise our self
discipline and strive for our goals.
However, we still require the
encouragement from people around
us, to help us be successful.
Congratulations to my fellow
classmates and may each of you
experience success in the future.
Thanks.
Congratulations to all our fine Graduates
