East Wawanosh Public School
East Wawanosh grads get ready to take next step
would be 1988.
By Myron Hussey
On behalf of the 1996/97
graduating class of East Wawanosh
Public School, I would like to
welcome teachers, parents and other
guests to this night of celebration.
We are the graduating class of
1997. We will be tipping our hats to
the teachers and students of East
Wawanosh
Public School
as we are
moving fo
rward to high
school. It is a
big step and an
interesting
experience,
kind of like the
first day of
school.
The year
We can all
remember walking into the big
doors of the school. We were a bit
scared of being away from our
parents, but we were also excited.
As we entered the classroom we all
saw Mrs. Wilson's smiling face and
all the neat little toys she had in her
room. There were little tables
arranged with our names on them.
This is where we would start off,
where we would make our friends
and leam new things. This was the
beginning of our school life. Mrs.
Wilson taught and we all sat there
learning how to socialize and I
guess, behave. As the year went by
we all made friends within the class.
Grade 8 graduates of East Wawanosh Public School are,

next step was 1 with
Mrs. Hessels or Mrs. Brydges. I can
remember walking into the
classroom and looking up to find
our happy teacher. We learned
things like how putting vowels and
consonants together formed words
and that one plus one equals two.
All these things were very amazing
to us.
All the people who were in Mrs.
Hessels' class can all remember the
tickets we had. You would start off
with five and you would get one
taken away if you got in trouble.
The funny thing about it is that I
didn't have any tickets left at the
end of the week. How this happened
I don't know. I think someone was
stealing them.
We all remember Mrs. Hessels
telling us our warm fuzzies and our
cold pricklies of the day. One thing
we won't forget is when Curtis's
nose started to drip because he was
laughing so hard.
Grade 1 was a happy time, but it
went by so quickly and it was time
to move on to Grade 2. Once again
the classes were split up, some of
usto Miss Mathers and the others to
