The Belgrave United Church Country Fayre is being held on Saturday, June 21 in the Belgrave arena with the doors opening at 4 p.m. and the smorgasbord supper beginning at 5 p.m. There is something for everyone, including a bake stall, penny auction, plants and produce, crafts and more. Congratulations and best wishes to Lila McClinchey who has been a school bus driver for East Wawanosh students for the past 30 years. An assembly was held last Friday at EWPS honouring her for her many years of dedicated and faithful service. Congratulations to Lila from all her bus students and the parents. Jim Lamont has returned home after enjoying a holiday West visiting with many relatives and friends. He flew to Winnipeg then to Moosonee, Sask. Jim Lamont, Don and Mary McLeod drove to Vancouver Island where they stayed for about two weeks attending the wedding of his niece Brussels III U-8 wins 2 The Brussels III U-8 soccer team has had a great couple of weeks. On June 2, they won against Elma 1 in Brussels, 4-2. Goal scorers were Marty Goetz, two, Derek Koehler and Wade Stephenson. On June 9 they took on Brussels II and won 3-0. Garner and Alice Nicholson, Belgrave, Wilson and Dorothy Thornton, Bluevale visited on Saturday with Ray and Cindy Nicholson, Victoria and Alexandra of Elmira. It was the occasion of Alexandra's second birthday. Garner and Alice Nicholson visited with Rob and Judy Nichol­ son in Listowel on Father's Day, Sunday. Everyone had fun and did a super job. Chamneys hit gold Stuart and Lois (Webster) Cham­ ney celebrated their golden anniversary with friends and family at Belgrave Community Centre, June 7. The couple was wed in St. Helens, on that day 50 years ago, with Jean (Webster) Henderson and Gordon Chamney witnessing the happy occasion. They honey­ mooned in Niagara Falls and Wind­ sor. Now retired from farming, the Euchre There were eight tables of euchre in play at the Women's Institute on Wednesday, June 11. Winners were: high lady, Olive Bolt; second high lady, Audrey Edgar; most lone hands, Viola Adams; low lady, Kay McCormick; high man, Stuart Chamney; second high man, Jane Grasby; lone hands, Laura Johnston; low man, George Inglis. This was the last euchre until fall.
