When Colborne Tykes came to
Blyth, June 3, there were hot bats
on both benches.
Matt Wilson made a good defen
sive play to end the top of the first
and allow his team the opportunity
to mount a comeback.
Blyth did just that off the bats of
Anthony Peters, Ashlee Cook and
Erin Moore as they each belted
homeruns.
A nice play by Ben Caldwell at
third earned the final out for Col-
bome and put the bats in the hands
of Blyth players. Justin Ritchie,

Mites face tough opponent
Belgrave Mite Boys had a tough
loss to a strong hitting, strong
pitching Howick opponent, at home
June 5.
The first out of the inning was a
strike-out for pitcher Darcey Cook,
who then did some fancy footwork
to catch a pop-up for the second
out. Another strike-out ended the
inning. In between the visitors
managed four runs.
After an unproductive bottom
half, Kyle Procter was on the
mound. After two strikeouts, and
five runs, Zach Home made a nice
catch to get out number three.
Belgrave got on the board with
one run, when Cook stole home,
Varna Mites too much for Blyth
A strong opponent was the down
fall for the Blyth Mites when they
travelled to Varna, June 4.
Though Josh Albrechtas did an
excellent job pitching in the final
three innings, he was unable to
keep his squad in the game. Danny
Cullen pitched the first.
Blyth put two runs on the board
when Kyle McNeil got on base
plate
homers with Katie McClinchey,
Katie Stryker and Nick Dale con
tributing singles.
Colborne would not give up the
fight as they blasted two homers in
the second, one bringing in two
runs.
Blyth retaliated with a triple by
McClinchey and a homerun by
Moore.
Strong defense was shown by
Kendall Whitfield, catching a pop
up in the third and grabbing a toss
from Britt Peters for an out at first
in the fourth?
Blyth was victorious 23-10.
then he was back on the mound for
inning three. After a strikeout, it
was tough going as the maximum
seven runs crossed the plate.
Belgrave failed to capitalize on
their at-bat, then with Procter back
on the mound, Howick pummeled
their way to another six runs. The
first out was Procters as he made a
nice snag and ran down the runner
on his way to first. Procter caught a
fly for the second out, then struck
out the batter for the final out.
Belgrave got their final run that
inning. Cook got the RBI.
Cook came back on in the fifth
where he got one batter to fly out,
then struck out two. Only three run
ners crossed the plate.
then was pushed across the plate by
an Albrechtas hit. Cullen also
scored.
Lisa Root hit home in the second
off a single by Jimmy Ritchie,
Down 13-3 going into the fourth,
Blyth was held off the scoreboard
though two players earned walks.
Varna added 10 to their tally in
the last at bat.

Safe on first
Ethel Pre-Mite John Bentley was safe at the bag while Ashley Sholdice of the Brussels
squad made a good attempt at nabbing the grounder. The more experienced Ethel team
outscored Brussels in their June 5 matchup.
Brussels Bs beat Palmerston
Two goals in the second half
allowed Brussels U-18 team to tie
Palmerston.
Palmerston opened the game
with two goals. The Palmerston
keeper Eli Thompson did an
outstanding job of foiling the
attempts of Brussels' forwards
Andrew Exel, Terry Brown and
Rolf Frischknecht to score.
In the second half a strong
defense led by centre fullback Scott
Central Huron Municipalities Restructuring Study /
Clarkson limited the Palmerston
attack. He raced across the field to
tackle Palmerston forwards and
ended their scoring threat. He
carried the ball into the right comer
of Palmerston and passed the ball
to Terry Brown who scored. Adam
Carr scored the equalizer when he
carried the ball through the
Palmerston team and scored off a
Palmerston defender.
Adam Gamess served as keeper
for Brussels.

after Nichol got the next batter to
ground out, Pfeiffer gunned the ball
home, where the 'Fear'-less catcher
stood his ground, for an exciting

The bats got hot in the home half
loo, as three runs scored. Nichol,
Cucksey and Marks all crossed the

Information has been collected on existing municipal services and finances.
Options for how these services can be delivered differently and for new
government structures have been selected for further review and public input.
Three options are being looked at further:
• Improving the Status Quo: retaining the existing local government structure
(i.e. 7 municipalities) but identifying additional efficiencies beyond those
already achieved.
• Two Municipalities: restructuring into a Central Huron West municipality
(Township of Goderich, Township of Colborne, Town of Goderich) and a
Central Huron East municipality (Township of Hullett, Township of McKillop,
Town of Clinton and Town of Seaforth).
• One Municipality: restructuring into a single municipality combining the
Township of Goderich, Township of Colborne, Town of Goderich, Township of
Hullett, Township of McKillop, Town of Clinton and Town of Seaforth.
Three public meetings have been scheduled to enable you to learn more and
provide your views. The dates, times and locations are:
• Public Meeting #1: Wednesday, June 25th, 7:30 - 9:30 p.m. - Central Huron
Secondary School in Clinton.
• Public Meeting #2: Wednesday, July 9th, 7:30 - 9:30 p.m. - Seaforth District
High School
• Public Meeting #3: Thursday, July 10th, 7:30 - 9:30 p.m. - Goderich District
Collegiate Institute
At each meeting the options will be presented and an opportunity will be
provided for public comment.
