On May 23 the Blyth Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion and auxiliary were installed in a joint installation with the Hensail Branch. She presented her speech on being near the end of the alphabet. Anne Elliott, youth education chairman presented Charlotte with a bracelet in recognition of her achievement in the Legion Speaking Contests. Motions were passed to donate $1,000 to the Lions youth exchange program, and to minor ball in the amount of $500 towards the purchase of sweaters. A motion was passed to purchase an ice machine for use in the Branch and Auxiliary caterings. Members receiving honours and awards were Sam Dougherty, Pat Jenkins, Gord Jenkins, Gord Haggitt and Bob Hillis. VILLAGE OF BLYTH CHANGE OF MEETING DATES The Council of the Village of Blyth has deemed it necessary to change some of their Council Meeting dates for the summer months. Council meetings shall be held on the following dates commencing at 7:30 p.m. in the Village Council Chambers: Tuesday, June 24th; Monday, July 7th; Monday, July 21st; Tuesday, August 5th; Tuesday, August 19th; Tuesday, September 2nd. All regularly scheduled council meetings are open to the public and your attendance Fs encouraged. at 10 a.m. The branch will hold a weekly meat draw on Friday evenings as a fundraiser. Let's see all members getting involved with this endeavor.
