Meet Bill and Diana Campbell, owners of
J. & H. Campbell Transport Ltd., and long-time
residents of Blyth
In the Fall of 1995, Bill and Diana converted their
home to natural gas. Previously, they had been
using an electric furnace and water heater,
supplemented by a propane fireplace. Bill
commented that the Union Gas Sales Rep. (Don
Petteplace) was "very knowledgeable," in fact,
according to Bill, he did a "super, good job."
Further, Bill informed us that since they converted
their fireplace from propane to natural gas, they
"run it all day long."
Diana was quick to point out that natural gas
provides "a much nicer, warmer heat," making even
those hard to reach comers of the house "much
more comfortable." Diana also commented that she
loves having her BBQ on natural gas since "you
don't need to worry about the tank going empty."
The Campbells' enjoyment of natural gas did not
end at their home. They also converted the garage
at J. & H. Campbell Transport Ltd. Diana claims
"the men have commented they are much more
comfortable working in the garage" since the
conversion to natural gas. They have also saved
money. Bill stated that "we must be saving 30-40%
on ourenergy bills." In fact, they have enjoyed
their natural gas experience so much that they
recently converted Sunfield Oil Seeds Ltd. (a soy
plant that they are part-owners) to natural gas this
past fall.
