Five years of participation

Jump Rope for Heart fundraiser. From left: Melissa Snell, Leanne Jamieson, Mandy Dunbar

Crime of
the week
Culprits are continuing to do
damage to the Maitland Trail from
McGaw Sideroad west back to the
Menesetung Bridge. They are
cutting padlocks and chains on the
gates and making ruts in the trail
with vehicles.
Damage is happening on the
weekends. Signs including stop
signs are being damaged, knocked
down or pulled out. This has
happened repeatedly since the trail
has been in operation.
The concern of the Trail
Association is that somebody will
be hurt at one of the intersections if
a sign is missing or a gate is open.

Parish witnesses baptism
On Sunday, May 11, there was a
special baptismal service at Knox
United, Auburn when the Rev. Paul
Ross baptized Robert Frederick
Gordon, son of Laurie and Robert
Gordon of Plattsville.
After the teachings to the parents
and congregation, followed by the
promises and the baptism, Rev.
Ross took the the baby into the
congregation for the presentation.
Besides the parents, the grand
parents, Ruth and Fred Armstrong,
Auburn and Ruth and Robert
Gordon were there. In fact, five of
the babies' six grandmothers were
present for the service.
After church, dinner was served
by Ruth and Frederick Armstrong.
It was a memorable day.
Last Friday, May 2 the Worsell
family, Shelley, Bob, Graham and
Charlotte took off for Elliott Lake,
As we know Charlotte has been
winning first as a public speaker
every time she competed beginning
at the Blyth Legion. She was
speaking against other cross
country winners at Elliott Lake on
May 3. Again she did very well,
she was a runner-up.
Auburn can be very proud of her
accomplishments.

Perfect food
Al Sanders, a teacher at Hullett Central Public School,
cooked up delicious hotdogs with fried onions for the
crowds who gathered, May 10, for the school's 30th
anniversary.
Can I get a buck?
Tom Brindley was kept busy enticing attendees at the
Auburn Lions Club’s annual fundraising auction, May 9.
The children seemed to be having a lot of fun as they
gathered dolls, toys and numerous small items which
were purchased for less than a dollar.
