Brussels PS news Students see Titanic 4Hers take shots of elk By Katie Clark and Tamara Mason On Friday, April 11, Grades 7 and 8 students visited F. E. Madill Secondary School for a presenta­ tion about the RMS Titanic. Steven Santini shared with us true facts and his collection of the great ship. Mrs. Perrie's class worked on a unit about the Titanic and one of the many things we did was write an acrostic poem about the Titanic. On Wednesday, April 16, a group of students from the Grade 7/8 class made a trip down to Laurie Trowers' house to have a course on cooking. Along with Laurie was Janna Speers to help out. Oatmeal pancakes, cookies, peanut butter granola bars and breakfast balls were on the menu for that day. They were delicious. "The Clowns" is the title of the BPS spring concert this year. Grades 3/4, 4/5, 6/7, and 7/8 will be participating. The concert is about a group of clowns trying to find the meaning of life. Watch for further updates as this great show develops. Courtney Sallows and Nicole Mastnak have organized a talent show for Grades 4-8. Some acts include singing, dancing, playing an instrument, skipping, gymnas­ tics, and airbands. During this week there will be auditions to see who the final acts will be. F. E. Madill Secondary School's band came on Monday to share with us some of their musical sounds. We always enjoy having them visit our school. Mrs. Speers and Mrs. Bell are organizing the planting of two trees in recognition of Mr. and Mrs. Prior's contributions to our school. These activities will be taking place on Tuesday, April 22 which is Earth Day.
