Wilbees greet at Duff’s Compiled by Patty Banks Phone 887-6156 Students spring clean Well, if you have driven past the school this past week I hope that you noticed just how clean the school property looked as the children got into some spring cleaning. Great job kids! The letter 'M' made a hit this week with the Early Years students. They used marbles and magnets to help them leam all about the letter. They made mouse thumbprints in art and even used macaroni to make necklaces. Musical chairs was a game that they had fun playing. The Grade Is, believe it or not, lifted a table with a person on it just using air. They chose the smallest person to sit on this special table (looks like a mushroom turned upside down with the students sitting in the stem part of the mushroom). Twenty children each had a bag under the table. They added their straw to the bags and on the count of three all blew then- straws and up went the table. We either have children with strong lungs in our school or else the child was too easy to lift, so they decided to try someone Crime Stoppers Three iarns were burnt to the ground on Oct. 21, 1995. They were located at Lot 13, Cone. 13, West Wawanosh Twp., RR 2, Lucknow. 197 KING STREET, BLYTH - Old world charm plus modern conveniences! 2 storey brick home with many renovations, 3+ bedrooms, main floor laundry, 2Vi baths - located on nicely treed lot. Well folks, it is safe to say that there seems to be nothing too large for these students to lift just by using air. If you have anything that needs to be lifted, contact the Grade 1 class. For the conclusion of the Grade 2/3 egg unit, the class held an egg and toast breakfast. They are now very knowledgeable about eggs. Tliey are onto learning all about deserts. If anyone out there has any information about deserts Mrs. Vivian would love to have input. If anyone has travelled to some desert areas and has pictures of slides contact her at the school. The Grade 3 students joined the rest of their classmates as they finished Up their testing this week. Now the material will be forwarded to Toronto and the results will be back in June. So, it was getting back to normal for Grade 2/3 and 3/4 with Mrs. Vandendool teaching French again to the classes. She said that all the mystery cases have been solved and it is now onto a reading unit called, 'Incredible Edibles'. One of the bams contained an antique John Deere tractor. Total value of the damage was approximately $80,000 - $100,000. Flames were first noticed at about 11:55 p.m. Three teenagers were seen walking down the road from the direction of the fire. He then gave the Call to Worship and the congregation responded with the singing of the Introit, This is the Day. Rev. Murray announced that if there was anyone interested in attending Confirmation classes from ages 12 and up, to get in touch with him. There will be adult Confirmation classes as well, if there is any interest. Did any of them know that the comet had two tails? People need to see things sometimes, he said. A magnifying glass can help bring things closer and a telescope will make far awa places appear nearer. The Bible, he said, helps people see and understand things as well. "It helps us see and leam that Jesus is still with us." Rev. Murray's sermon was called, 'Easter: the Sequel'. It struck him he said, how odd it is that the readings for after Easter, are still bringing the same message. "It is already three weeks past, and we know that the disciples got the message and they believed or did they? Did we get the message?" Rev. Murray said in the morning readings the congregation saw that the disciples seemed to be falling back into forgetting and doubting, and Jesus had to come back one more time to show he was alive, so they would believe. They keep having this relapse in their faith. It seems that every time the disciples forget or are in doubt about what they are about, Jesus comes to remind them. They just weren't getting the message. The message just didn't get to their hearts. "How hard it is for us, as well, to hear and believe the one message that Jesus loves us," Rev. Murray said. "We go through, 'How can he love me? etc.' The thing is we all have these negative ideas about who we are at one time or another. But God sees all of us, all of what makes us, us. He knows our shortcomings and knows our potential. He sees the whole person and then says, 'I Love You!' He loves every part of us. Period! End of sentence! "This is why Jesus kept coming back then and still comes back now, he said. "To remind us. To show us the way. One more time! We are living in the sequel. Easter keeps on happening."
