Brussels Livestock report
Top bull hits $76, avg. range $56.50 to $67.20
The sales at Brussels Livestock
for the week ending April 11 were:
fed cattle, 921; cows, 262; veal
calves, 351; lambs and goats, 253;
and stockers, 2,074.
Woodham, averaging 1,393 lbs.
sold for an average of $87.35 with
sales to $94.25.
There were 382 heifers on offer
selling from $88 to $94 to the high

The fed steers and heifers sold on
a good steady market. The cows
also sold steady. Veal were selling
$2 to $3 lower. Lambs were selling
on a strong trade. Calves and
yearlings sold steady on Friday.
There were 521 steers on offer
selling from $88 to $94 to the high
of $101.75. Ten steers consigned
by Dan Hayden, Goderich,
averaging 1,492 lbs. sold for an
average of $95.76 with sales to
$101.75. Three steers consigned by
Don Shiell, Wingham, averaging
1,360 lbs. sold for an average of
$97.48 with sales to $101.50.
Thirty-three steers consigned by
Cunningham Fanns, Lucan, aver
aging 1,373 lbs. sold for an average
of $89.46 with sales to $99.75.
Thirteen steers consigned by Ken
Blackler, St. Marys, averaging
1,348 lbs. sold for an average of
$91.04 with sales to $98.25.
Thirty-nine steers consigned by
Dale and John Taylor Farms,
Creemore, averaging 1,371 lbs.
sold for an average of $88.60 with
sales to $97.75. Three steers

tion, Monkton, averaging 1,270 lbs.

sales to $96. Two steers consigned

1,195 lbs. sold for an average of

selling from $45 to $62 to the high
of $74. Two cows consigned by

$64.50. Two cows consigned by

1,188 lbs. sold for an average of

with sales to $62.50.
There were 16 bulls on offer
selling from $56.50 to $67.20 to
the high of $76. One Limousin bull

for $76. One Charolais bull
consigned by Don Ross, Holstein,
weighing 1,890 lbs. sold for
$71.50.
There were 351 veal on offer
selling: Beef, $80 to $115;
Holstein, $70 to $85; and Plain
Holstein, $50 to $70. Six veal
consigned by John Verburg,
Londesboro, averaging 653 lbs.
sold for an average of $100.68 with
sales to $115. One veal consigned
by Murray Smith, Dublin,
weighing 680 lbs. sold for $112.

$97.54 with sales to $105.50.

$103; 400 - 499 lbs., $81 to $108;
500 - 599 lbs., $84 to $103.50; 600

lbs., $75 to $98.50; 800 - 899 lbs.,
$91.50 to $96.50; and 900 lbs. and
over, $80.50 to $93.75.
