Brussels Novices take D championship
The Brussels Novices ended their
season at the Bly th Lions hockey
tournament this past weekend.
In their first game they came up
against a very good Ripley team.
Kyle Gibson played a strong game
in net, but faced far too many shots.
Philip Wedow notched the only
Brussels' marker in this 12-1
defeat. Brent Wheeler assisted.
The second game was a different
story with two evenly matched
teams. Unfortunately Brussels
could only manage to sneak one
past the opposition's netminder,
while Howick tagged three.
Matthew Whilte scored the goal,
while Wheeler and Wedow got the
assists.
After losing their first two
St. Pat’s Day jitney
end curling season
games, Brussels came up against
Blyth for the D championship. In
regular season play these two teams
were one and one.
This game was very exciting with
end-to-end action and a lot of scor
ing, but when the final buzzer
sounded Brussels had claimed the
title.
Brussels' goals were scored by
Kyle Procter, with three; White
with two; Wheeler, with three and
Wedow with a single. Assists were
creditted to Adam McClure, two;
Wedow, two; Wheeler; Cory Chap
man and Tyler Jutzi.
The coaches and trainer acknowl
edge the hard work of the players
and the support of the parents in
making the season an enjoyable as
well as an exciting one.

Crunch
A Blyth and Bothwell Bantam collide during what turned
out to be the final game of the OMHA semi-final playoff
