The Majestic Women's Institute
held its March meeting on
Wednesday, March 12 at 2 p.m.
with 17 member present.
President Ruth Sauve opened the
meeting with a reading. The Mary
Stewart Collect and the Institute
Ode were sung. Everyone then
answered the roll call, "How do
you support agriculture?" The
answers ranged from eating and
buying food to feeding a farmer to
producing commodities.
The minutes of the January and
February meetings were then read
by the secretary Kathy Bridge.
Treasurer's report was given by
Jean Bell. Correspondence was
read by the secretary.
Leona Armstrong then gave a
District Report. District Annual is
to be held May 13 in Fordwich and
the ACWW church service is on
April 27 at 2:30 p.m. in
Molesworth.
A Cancer Committee was formed
from volunteers for April.
The meeting was then turned
over to Convenors Jean Fraser and
Edna Pletch. Jean read the motto,
"Plant a Seed, Watch it Grow".
People should make a habit of
occasionally clearing their minds of
all other thoughts so that they
quietly can contemplate seeds. "We
forget how remarkable seeds are -
the best way to remember is to
plant a garden," she said.

restructure meat and poultry. Food
additives represent a trade-off in
convenience and health risks.
Today people are encouraged to
read food labels for a variety of
reasons - fat content, calories,
sodium content and the amount of
sugar.
Jean then gave a talk on 10 of the
most common additives found in
pre-packaged foods. Federal laws
regulate the use of food additives
and there are standards of identity
