the Feb. 18 meeting of council to
obtain permission to investigate the
situation.
The first consideration would be
to determine if the plant could han
dle the type of waste (wash water
from the tannery where wool is
removed from the hides) without
upsetting the system, said Rouw.
"I would do testing and sampling
to determine what is going in and
the cost effectiveness for both the
business and the municipality."
"Everything is running smoothly
now. We don't want to upset the
system. The amount of flow is not
a concern, but what is in it." he
said.
Councillors agreed to permit a
study, with the resulting informa
tion reviewed before consideration
would be given to a connection.
Rouw also noted there would be
no cost of the study to the village.
