F arm The sales at Brussels Livestock for the week ending Feb. 14 were: fed cattle, 611; cows, 273; veal calves, 237; lambs and goats, light run; and Stockers, 981. The fed steers and heifers sold steady. The cows traded fully steady. Veal sold steady to last week with lambs also trading on a steady market. Calves sold $2 - $3 higher with yearlings selling steady. Eighteen steers consigned by Jim Howatt, Londes boro, consigned by 1,449 lbs. sold for an average of $87.23 with sales to $95.75. Thirty- nine steers consigned by Murray Forbes Farms Ltd., Clinton, averaging 1,416 lbs. sold for an average of $82.41 with sales to $92. Five steers consigned by Harglen Holst. Inc., Crediton, averaging 1,360 lbs. sold for an average of $85.19 with sales to $91.75. Seventeen steers consigned by Stan Francis, Kirkton, averaging 1,319 lbs. sold for an average of $82.25 with sales to $91.25. Thirty-six steers consigned by Dale and Dave Foster, St. Marys, averaging 1,368 lbs. sold for an average of $82.78 with sales to $90.25. Two steers consigned by Dwayne Dickert, Ayton, averaging 1,388 lbs. sold for an average of $84.37 with sales to $89.50. Thirteen steers consigned by SLchmidt Brook Farms Inc., Woodstock, averaging 1,475 lbs. sold for an average of $83.15 with sales to $88.75. Ten steers consigned by Terry McCarthy, Dublin, averaging 1,296 lbs. sold for an average of $81.74 with sales to $88. Eleven steers consigned by Don Lamont, Mount Forest, averaging 1,308 lbs. sold for an average of $84.01 with sales to $88. Four steers consigned by Lome W. Reis, Milverton, averag­ ing 1,435 lbs. sold for an average of $81.24 with sales to $87.25. There were 176 heifers on offer selling from $80 to $84 to the high of $89.75. Three heifers consigned by Donald Thornton, Gorrie, averaging 1,140 lbs. sold for an average of $81.98 with sales to $87. Twelve heifers consigned by Wayne King, Gorrie, averaging 1,160 lbs. sold for an average of $83.59 with sales to $86.75. Two cows consigned by John Miller, St. Pauls Station, averaging 1,683 lbs. sold for an average of $53.10 with sales to $61. There were 13 bulls on offer selling from $48.50 to $50.50 to the high of $60.50. One hereford bull consigned by Jack Coates, Centralia, weighing 1,940 lbs. sold for $54. One Charolais bull consigned by Murray Johnston, Bluevale, weighing 2,195 lbs. sold for $54. There were 247 veal on offer selling: Beef, $80 to $111; Holstein, $70 to $85; Plain Holstein, $50 to $70. Four veal consigned by John Verburg, Londesboro, averaging 660 lbs?, sold for an average of $94.38 with sales to $111. Five veal consigned by Murray Nelson, Palmerston, averaging 659 lbs. sold for an average of $83.05 with sales to $96. Two veal consigned by Rick Smith, Ripley, averaging 665 lbs. sold for an average of $93.50 with sales to $94.50. Lambs under 50 lbs., sold $180 to $220; 50 to 80 lbs., $195 to February is Heart and Stroke Month, a Support the y Heart and Stroke Foundation. $225. Sheep sold $20 to $60. Steers, under 400 lbs., sold $70 to $101; 400 - 499 lbs., $70 to $119; 500 - 599 lbs., $80 to $106.50; 600 - 699 lbs., $65 to $100; 700 - 799 lbs., $83.50 to $105; 800 - 899 lbs., $84 to $97.75; and 900 lbs. and over, $77.50 to $101. Heifers, 300 - 399 lbs., sold $84 to $105; 400 - 499 lbs., $59 to $105.50; 500 - 599 lbs., $73 to $94; 600 - 699 lbs., $74.50 to $87.50; 700 - 799 lbs., $74 to $88.30 and 800 - 899 lbs., $67 to $87.50.
