PeeWees
win 6th
The Wingham Legion PeeWees
extended their winning streak to six
games on Sunday, Jan. 12 when
they travelled to Kurtzville for a
game against Wallace Twp.
Kent McPherson scored the first
two Wingham goals with assists
going to Matthew Dinning,
Zachary O'Krafta and Curtis
Knight. Drew Williams replied for
Wallace.
In the second period, Wingham
extended the lead on goals by
Justin Campbell from Dinning and
Kent Readman and Patrick Rozen-
dal from Geoff Lindsay.
Wallace got two goals from Gary
Martin. McPherson from Chad
Cook added an insurance marker
before Matt Williams brought
Wallace to within one.
Despite late pressure, Wallace
was unable to gel the equalizer,
resulting in a 5-4 Wingham victory.
Wallace showed Wingham some
outstanding speed to the outside,
while Wingham was able to win
without the services of their best
defenceman who received a game
misconduct for cross-checking
from behind.
The return game was cancelled
due to the weather.
