and Dr. Daniel Rooyakkers. In the beginning the office hours will be Tuesdays and
Thursdays from 1-5 p.m. and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Devereaux said it is hoped that
there will eventually be daily medical coverage at the office.

Animal control Officer Bob
Trick gave his annual report to
Blyth council at the Dec. 2 meet-
ing. Responding to 48 complaints,
Trick said 12 dogs were picked up,
six taken to the vet and six returned
to their owners. During the year,
106 tags were sold.
Council will consider three rec-
ommendations put forward by
Trick. They were: limit the number
of dogs per household, regulate
vicious dogs and responsibilities
for damage done by stray dogs.
The pavement on Morris Street
was dug up to recover a torpedo for
Union Gas. A permanent fix will be
completed in the spring.
Upon receiving a complaint
about recycled salt being used on
village streets, council agreed use
of the salt would continue as it had
been tested by the Ministry of
Transportation.
Bills and accounts totalling
$94,006.90, were approved for pay-
ment.
A bylaw was passed instating
Donna Hamm as acting secretary-
bookkeeper.

Philip Street of Kingston
(formerly of Blyth) placed third in
a recent survey of comic strip
reader preference, run by The
Globe and Mail.
Philip has had his comic strip
"Fisher" in The Globe & Mail for
the past four years, starting in June
1992. He had developed a
considerable calling of readers
across Canada according to the
survey. A number of responding
readers suggested that more
Canadian comic strips would be
appreciated.

Blyth Council briefs
ACO gives annual report
