MCCURDY PUBLIC SCHOOL
Plainly marked sealed tenders will be received at the Huron County
Board of Education, 163 Princess Street, East, Clinton, Ontario, NOM
1LO, prior to 12:00 noon on Friday, November 29, 1996, for snow
removal at Colborne Central Public School, R. R. # 5, Goderich and
McCurdy Public School, Huron Park.
Tenders must be submitted on the official tender form which is
available at the above schools.
Lowest or any tender not necessarily accepted.

Sealed tenders addressed to The Huron County Board of Education will

Princess Street, 'Clinton, Ontario, NOM 1LO, until 1:00 p.m. on
Thursday, November 28, 1996.
A Bid Bond amount of $30,000.00 is required to accompany the
tender. The successful bidder will be required to provide a 50%
Performance Bond and 50% Labour and Material Payment Bond.
A limited number of tender documents will be available to General
Contractors only, from the office of Garratt & Marklevitz Architects,
516 Huron Street, Stratford, Ontario, NSA 5T7, after November 14,
1996, upon deposit of a certified cheque in the amount of $100.00 per
set.

TENDERS Goderich
decks out
for holidays
The Town of Goderich will be
decked out for the holiday season,
Nov. 23 to Jan. 1, as they celebrate
with the Festival of Lights.
Kicking off the five weeks of
events will be the Santa Claus
parade, Nov. 23.
The following Friday, a spectacu-
lar laser light show will be present-
ed at The Square, along with the
lighting of Court House Park.
Throughout the month, there will
be activities and performances for
the entire family. A free movie
showing for the children will be
featured along with a Christmas
open house at the museum. Peter
Pan will be one staged at The Liv-
ery and there will be a Christmas
Carol sing at the museum.
For those with a taste for the
Celtic, there will be a Celtic Christ-
mas concert and Celidh.
The youngsters may enjoy break-
fast with Santa.
Many more events are scheduled.

tale of Poland

the treasurer's report by Jean Bell.
Jean Fraser gave a report of the
Environmental Fair which was held
on Nov. 7 at the BMG Arena.
Correspondence was heard. New
business was tackled with some
discussion.
Marie McCutcheon introduced
the guest speaker - Irene Blake,
who spoke on her life growing up
in Poland and how her family had
to flee their home with one half
hour's notice. Their journey of
many years had several stops,
before they arrived in Canada.
Each member had brought an
item that was made in Canada
which was auctioned at this time by
acting auctioneer Jane White.
Marie McCutcheon then
followed with the Motto: An up-to-
date report on immigration in
Canada.
The November meeting of
Londesboro WI was held at the
Hall at 8 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 18.
Lois read a poem Remembrance
and a minute's silence was
observed. Members opened with
the Opening Ode, Mary Stewart
Collect and 0 Canada. Roll call
was taken.
The minutes of the October
meeting were read and approved.
The financial report was read.
It was Londesboro United's
anniversary service this past
Sunday. Guest speaker was Rev.
Don Robinson of Camlachie
United Church. His message was
"Share Your Happiness".
Greeters were Garnet and
Margaret Wright. Ushers were
Garnet Wright and Doug Snell.
A donation is being given to the
Blyth Legion. Lois gave a brief
report of the London Convention.
Renee Snell told about being an
English war bride. She also gave a
reading "In Time of Remem-
brance".
Betty Hulley gave a demonstra-
tion on making cards and
bookmarks with dried flowers. This
was very interesting.
Lunch was served by Hazel Reid
and Liz Lawson.
The senior choir sang an anthem.
A men's quartet composed of Floyd
McCash, Varna; Bob Davidson,
Bayfield; Ed Gillam, Kincardine,
and Harry Lear, Londesboro, sang
two anthems.
Stewards will hold a budget
meeting Tuesday, Nov. 26 at 8 p.m.
in the Sunday School room.
