On Wednesday, Nov. 13 the
November meeting of the Majestic
Women's Institute was held at
2 p.m. at the Brussels Library with
23 members present.
President Ruth Sauve welcomed
everyone and read a poem. The
Institute Ode and Mary Stewart
Collect were recited.

It will be a board run affair when
members of the Brussels, Morris,
Grey Board of Recreation Manage-
ment take over the catering duties
for the business Christmas dance,
Nov. 30.
The board was advised at the
Nov. 13 meeting that BMG Cater-
ing Group would be unable to cater
the dance. Board members and
their families will do the work,
under the guidance of BMG Cater-
ing Group. The menu will remain
the same as in previous years, with
a hot roast beef dinner.
In accordance with the Brussels,
Morris, Grey Recreation Agree-
ment 1994, Schedule B was
reviewed by a committee consisting
of Board Chair Alvin McLellan,

retary Rhonda Fischer. The review
committee agreed municipal levies'
should be adjusted to reflect minor
sports registration over the last two
years. Brussels usage changed from
42 per cent to 43 per cent while
Morris Twp. dropped to 23 per cent
from 24 per cent. Grey Twp.
remained the same. Each council
will have to pass a bylaw agreeing
to the amendment.

Eleanor Hemingway celebrated
her 85th birthday on Nov. 11.
She has lived on Conc. 12 of
Grey Twp. all her life, first on Lot
21, east of Cranbrook and presently
on Lot 6, west of Cranbrook. She
has four sons and four daughters,
29 grandchildren and 13 great-
grandchildren. She has been an
active member of Majestic
Women's Institute, Brussels United
Church Women, Horticulture
Society and lawn bowling and still
maintains interest in these
activities.
On Saturday, Nov. 9, Eleanor's
family planned a euchre and
crokinole party at Brussels Public
School. Friends, neighbours and
relatives shared in the fun including
cake ice cream and singing happy
birthday. On Sunday, Nov. 10 her
immediate family joined together
for dinner at Millington's in
Brucefield.
Ray Hemingway and family of
Vancouver, Don Hemingway and
family of Alberta and Manitoba,
Laurel East and family of Wawa
joined area families to celebrate
their mother, Eleanor Hemingway's
birthday.
They had a party on Nov. 9 and
family dinner Nov. 10 to celebrate
her Nov. 11 birthday.
