John Girvin of University Hospital
should be giving Mike Harris the
going over! After all, there is a
difference between cutting back, as
opposed to slashing whatever
crosses Harris's path.
The possibility of a hospital
closing in St. Marys got the kettle
boiling. The London Free Press,
Nov. 2 edition says, "The press
release from the health council is
considered a "slap in the face", but,
he added, "that it will not
discourage the campaign to save
the hospital.
The district health council and
the provincial politicians are
passing the buck between
themselves to line their own
pockets, and are refusing to listen
to the public. It is the same old
game of keeping us at arm's length.
Which makes you wonder - who is
honestly speaking for us?
Well, based on their campaign
promises, it is clear to me that
politicians tell you what you want
to hear when seeking office, to get
their foot in the door. Then, once
the election is completed, if they
manage to get into office, they slam
the door in your face!
Having been a patient in
hospitals numerous times, I will not
take this laying down! I for one
stress the importance of our
hospitals. WE NEED OUR
HOSPITALS. Please show your
support - stand up and be counted.
Thank you.
Kathy Bromley.
P.S. I am getting so fed up with
politicians! I feel we should have
one more choice to be able to check
off at election time - one that says
"None of the above!"
After all, cut-backs have to be
made to some extreme, so why
don't politicians get their income
decreased and try to make do with
less, as they expect others to?
Shouldn't they set an example and
practise what they preach?
