Sparks turn leaders into mummies

James Caldwell, 3, was one of 75 children who attended
the Oct. 26 Blyth Optimist Halloween Party. Youngsters
played games and got treats at the annual event. James
is the son of Jackie Caldwell.

H&S Foundation
meets in Blyth
The Huron County Chapter of the
Heart & Stroke Foundation of
Ontario, will hold its annual
general meeting, on Monday, Nov.
18 at Blyth Memorial Hall, Blyth at
7:30 p.m. The general public is
invited to attend.
The meeting will feature,
recognition of F96 Key supporters
of Heart and Stroke, a review of
revenue goals for F97 and
introduction of F97 board of
directors. Guest speakers will speak
on Heart and Stroke programs and
research. There will also be a silent
auction.
The 1st Blyth Sparks year is well
underway.
Leaders Janice, Ruth, Sharon
welcomed parents and friends to
their enrollment night on Oct. 22.
The evening began with a few
games, the presentation of the
official pinning of new Sparks with
the aid of District Commissioner,
Heather Jackson. The girls then
served their parents refreshments.
The evening ended by parent
request with the Hokey Pokey. Act
II donated balloons.
Oct. 29 was a Halloween party
where the girls came dressed up as

everything from a little pony to
tinkerbell. They carved pumpkins
and wrapped the leaders in toilet
paper as mummies. Fun was had by
all.
Upcoming events include the
Cookie Blitz on Nov. 9 where they
will sweep the town for sales and
the Remembrance Day Parade and
Service on Nov. 11.

NOTICE
I have enjoyed providing medical
services to the Blyth community for
more than a decade. As a result of a
number of factors, I am regretfully
closing my Blyth office November 28,
1996. I would be pleased to continue
the medical care of my patients
through my Clinton office, and I
sincerely regret the inconvenience
this will cause.
