Sarah McDonald greeted those
that came to worship at Duff's
United Church on Oct. 27. Scott
Murray began the service by
lighting the Christ Candle and Rev.
James Murray gave the Call to
Worship. The choir sang an old
favourite Precious Memories.
Rev. Murray announced that the
Unified board will meet Nov. 3 at
8 p.m. The turkey supper is Nov. 6.
The ministers sermon was called,
'Loving God with all you've got.'
He preached on one of the most
famous and best known passages
from the New Testament, Matt. 22
- love God with all your heart,
mind and soul and to love your
neighbour as yourself. Rev. Murray
pointed out that these command-
ments are taken from the Old
Testament, but the fact that Jesus
puts them together in a new way
makes people consider Jesus to be
the source of this. The fact that
there are only two commandments
instead of 10 makes it easier to
remember. They are the command-
The Rotary Club of Grand Bend
will be hosting its 5th annual
antique show and sale, Nov. 1 to 3,
at the Oakwood Convention Cen-
tre, Grand Bend.
Raising funds for charitable pro-
jects, the Rotarian event will fea-
ture 25 prestigious dealers, each
displaying antiques 50 years of age
and greater, with excellent variety
and quality.

Duff s United Church. There was
representation from Huron-Perth
Presbytery and members of
Bluevale and Walton Churches.
Rev. Stephen Huntley was the
presider and Rev. Dave Jagger was
the preacher fondle evening.
The joint efforts of the Bluevale
and Walton choir produced a
beautiful sound in the singing of I,
the Lord of Sea and Sky. Rev.
Jagger told his sermon, 'Up a
Creek' using children and adult
volunteers.
Communion was served and after
the commissioning and benedic-
tion, Neil McGavin came forward
to emcee the welcoming part of the
service. People representing
different groups from the Bluevale/
Walton Pastoral charges came
forward and welcomed Rev.
Murray and his family.
An hour of fellowship followed
the service downstairs.

ing will be held Friday evening,
from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The show on
Saturday will run from 10 a.m.
until 6 p.m. while the Sunday event
will finish at 5 p.m.

Community
expresses
sympathy
The community was saddened to
hear about the death of Jim
Williamson who died Thursday
night in his home. Jim's funeral was
held Saturday. Deepest sympathies
are extended to his wife, Irma and
his family.
There were 10 tables of euchre
played at the Walton Hall last
Thursday. The first prize winners
were Ken Preszcator and Lou
Maloney. Second prize went to Bob
and Dorothy Dalton, third prize to
Dave Rose and Charlie Scherbarth,
men's lone hand winner was Alvin
McDonald and the ladies' lone hand
was Kay Hesselwood.
According to Barb Durrell, who
organized the craft sale at the
Walton Hall this past Saturday, the
evening was a great success. With
20 vendors selling their wares,
there was a wide variety of items.
She said as long, as people keep
expressing an interest they will
make this an annual event every
fall.
Family and close friends helped
Murray and Olene Dennis celebrate
their 40th anniversary on Saturday.
The gathering was entertained by
the four grandchildren as they
played piano solos and did some
recitations.
Congratulations to Valerie
Laverty and Jim Shortreed who
were married Saturday, Oct. 20.
There were 11 tables of euchre at
the Ethel Hall hosted by Jan Mor-
ris.

The classes have all begun
getting in the mood for Halloween
by decorating their rooms and
doing such things as pumpkin art
and playing games. They have
enjoyed such games as, Witches
Cackle, Witch's Cave, and Old
Mother Witch fell in the Ditch.
