Guest speaker at Knox United
On Wednesday, Oct. 23 there
were 10 tables of euchre in play at
the Belgrave Women's Institute
Hall.
Winners were: high lady, Olive
Bolt; second high lady, Jean
Pattison; lone hands, Marie
Merkley; low lady, Ruth Johnston;
high man, Stuart Chamney; second
high man, John King; lone hands,
Garner Nicholson; low man, Iona
McLean (playing as a man).
The next euchre will be on
Wednesday, Oct. 30 at 8 p.m.
Everyone is welcome.

The Huron-Perth Lakers Minor
Peewee AAA split two games in
weekend action.
On Saturday the Lakers got two
goals each from Ken Courtney and
qcilan Krotz to edge the Elgin-
Vliddlesex Chiefs 4-3.

the first two minutes of the game,
then hung on as the Lakers stormed
the London end in the second and
third period but were unable to
score.
The game was a fast-paced hard-
hitting affair.

Lakers host Elgin-Middlesex at
Clinton, Sunday at 6 p.m.

Belgrave Sunday, Oct. 27 were
Laurie Procter, Peggy and Candace,
and Julie Hopper.
The congregation sang Open My
Eyes and Saviour Teach Me Day By
Day as chosen songs for song time.
Elly Van Bergen shared her
ministry in the absence of Rev.
Mary Jane Hobden. Silent
meditation was followed by call to
worship and the Prayer of
Approach in unison. The choir of
mixed voices sang "Jesus is
Leading Me".
Elly read a story from the
Hebrew scriptures, Deuteronomy
Once again the School Fair was a
great success. The school board
would like to thank the students,
teachers and parents for all their
help in making the 76th school fair
a success.
We hope to see you all next year
at the fair.
Overall winner was Shawn
Cottrill with 134 points. Four
books are awarded to the junior and
senior students with the highest
points at the fair. They were: junior
girl, Tammy Freiburger, 80 points,
runner up, Leanne Elston, 79 points;
junior boy, Kevin Freiburger, 83
points, runner-up Bradley Haines,
63 points; senior girl, Jodi

Correction in last week's paper. It
should have read Thanksgiving
guests at the home of Freda
Johnston were Doug and Sue
Johnston of Lucan; Rod and Tara
Johnston, Windsor; Charlie and
Lauretta Johnston of Woodstock;
and Brad and Brenda McCann and
Jackie of Brampton. They were all
guests at the 50th Wedding
Anniversary celebration of Fleming
and Dorothy Johnston's.
On defence was Ryan Jutzi,
Wade Stephenson, Andrew Baker,
Adam Corbett, Chase Chapman,
William King and Lance Stafford.
In net was Christopher Jutzi, who
pounced on every loose puck

led Ripley to a 5-2 win in Brussels.

Brussels while the Crusaders had
20 attempts on Kevin Taylor in the
Ripley net.
Each team had six minor

The Crusaders travel to

Bible stories for children. Spirit,
Spirit of Gentleness was sung by
the congregation as the children left
for Sunday School.
The responsive Psalm was a
paraphrase of Psalm 90.

was sung followed by scripture
lesson from Matthew 22, verses 34-
40. The sermon was based on
"Love Your Neighbour as Christ
Loves Your Neighbour".
The offering was received by
Ross Higgins and Ken Procter.
Candace Chaffe was in charge of
nursery. Our God's A Fortress was
Snowden, 80 points, runner up,
Kerrie Meier, 70 points; senior boy,
Shawn Cottrill, 134 points, runner-
up, Chris Cottrill, 118 points.

are a collection of seven favourite
hymns and four wedding songs
sung by John and Chris McIntosh
at a cost of $5 per tape with the
proceeds going to the church.
