OPP charge man following fight 0 bituaries DR. CHARLES MYERS Dr. Charles Arthur Myers passed away peacefully on Thursday, Oct. 10, 1996 in Saskatoon. He was 84. Born in Prescott, Ont., July 7, 1912, Dr. Myers graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto in 1937. The following year he married his wife, the for- mer Anne Pauline Thomson on July 7 in Brampton. He served as a Major overseas in the Army Medical Corps in World War II. After his tour ended he estab- lished what became a thriving med- ical practice and maternity home in Brussels until 1961 when they moved to Saskatchewan. Dr. Myers worked as a medical examiner for the Department of Veteran Affairs until retiring in 1979. He moved to Saskatchewan in 1961. Dr. Myers is survived by his beloved wife. He is lovingly remembered by his children: Eliza- beth (Lev) Balser, Frances (Bill) McQuarrie, Irene (Bob) Richmond, Mae (Paul) Chometsky, Lillian Guckert, Ronald (Coleen) Myers. He was the loving grandfather of Don Kernaghan, Debbie and Ivan Metcalfe, Mary Joan McQuarrie, Mike and Donna McQuarrie, Bon- nie and Chuck Stewart, John and Sue Richmond, Brenda and Bert Sjaarda, Melissa Chometsky, Charles Chometsky, Darlene and Daryn Weiss, Peggy and Rick Kleiter, Jodi and Calvin Sehn, Shawna Guckert, Darcy Myers and Ryan Myers. Also left to mourn his passing are 18 great-grandchildren. Dr. Myers was predeceased by his parents, three brothers, Ed, John and Bill; four sisters, Bessie, Gertrude, Lillian and Myrtle. A memorial service was held from the Chapel of Saskatoon Funeral Home on Oct. 15. Rev. Michael Stonhouse officated. Inter- ment of remains will take place in Blue Church Cemetery, Prescott. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foun- dation of Saskatchewan, 2.79-3rd Avenue North, Saskatoon, Sask. S7K 21-18 ANDY NETHERY Andy Nethery of RR 3,. Wingham, died suddenly at London Health Sciences Centre on Thursday, Oct. 17, 1996, as the result of an automobile accident. He was in his 18th year. Larry Andrew George (Andy) Nethery was the beloved son of Helen Sleightholm and her husband James of RR 3, Wingham and the dear brother of William Nethery. Also surviving is his father, Larry Nethery of RR 4, Brussels, grandparents George Gibbons of RR 3, Wingham and Jean Nethery of Blyth, several aunts, uncles and cousins. Andy was predeceased by his • grandparents, Leola Gibbons and Alex Nethery and his uncle, Merril Gibbons. Visitation was held at the McBurney Funeral Home in Wingham on Sunday, Oct. 20, from 7 to 9 p.m. A private funeral service was held in the funeral home on Monday, Oct. 21, with Rev. John P. Vaudry officiating. Cremation, with interment of ashes in Wingham Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ian, Chris, Wayne, Lionel, Brian and Winston Gibbons. Memorial donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. JANET (JEAN) SCOTT Janet (Jean) Scott of Hullett Twp. passed away at Clinton Public Hos- pital, Oct. 17, 1996, at the age of 91. A long-time member of Burns' UCW and Londesboro United Church, Mrs. Scott was the daugh- ter of the late Simon and Jessie (Johnston) McVittie and beloved wife of James Douglas Scott, who predeceased her in 1979. The Scotts were married, Apr. 3, 1929, and lived in Toronto for 20 years before returning to Hullett Twp. She was the loving mother of Jim Scott of Goderich and Ken and Laura Scott of RR1, Blyth and loved grandmother of Jay Carter of Clinton, Judy Dixon of Clinton, Jyll and Dave Jervis of RR2, Seaforth, JoAnn and Joe Flynn of RR3, Clinton, Jamie and Liz Scott of Goderich, Julie and Gary Gag- nier of RR4, Walton and B.J. Scott, Christy Scott and Shannon Scott all of RR I , Blyth. She was predeceased by two brothers, Kelland and Duncan Scott, two sisters, Olive Lear and Jessie Watt and a daughter-in-law, Donna Scott. The funeral service was held, Oct. 19, at Beattie-Falconer Funeral Home, Tasker Chapel, Blyth with Rev. Paul Ross officiating. Interment was at Burns Ceme- tery, Hullett Twp. A man has been charged follow- ing a fight in Blyth on Oct. 13. According to a report from the OPP, the assault occurrred at the Blyth Village Eatery, then contin- ued out onto the main street. The two men involved eventually fell into the front window of The Green Gallery. Police say Steve Avery, 32, of Blyth, left the scene but was later arrested for impaired driving and then charged with assault. *** Between Oct 13-14 a 1983 Honda three-wheel ATV was stolen from an Albert St. residence out of the back of a pick-up truck. It was valued at $1,300. ** * Between Oct. 12-15 a Makita grinder and Makita impact wrench were stolen from a shed on Conc. 6 in Morris Twp. Value is $440. *** Police are investigaitng a break- in from a shed at Howick Central Public School. The padlock had been broken off and a John Deere green lawn tractor with serial num- bers M00185B510887 and FC540071374 and a Homelite weed eater, model ST-175, serial number H10550948'were stolen. Value is $1,400. The theft occurred between Oct. 11-15. *** On Oct. 16 someone spray paint- ed along Victoria St. Gorrie.
