Cattle hold steady, steers reach $98.25
The sates at Brussels Livestock
for the week ending Oct. 11 were:
fed cattle, 729; cows, 232; veal
calves, 581; lambs and goats, 59;
and stockers, 2,082.
All weights of cattle were selling
steady. Veal sold $1 - $2 lower.
Lambs were steady. All classes of
stockers were selling steady.
There were 481 steers on offer
selling from $87 to $92 to the high

Ontario's temporary retail sales
tax rebate measure allows
commercial farmers to claim a
rebate of the eight per cent sales tax
they pay on materials to build or
modernize a building or structure
used exclusively for farm purposes.
Examples of such structures
include barns, silos, greenhouses
and buildings that house farm
machinery.
The retail sales tax rebate applies
to building materials (for example,
wood, nails, paint, etc.) and on the
cost of building qualifying farm
structures. Supporting documen-
