Brussels Bulls suffer 3 losses
The Brussels Bulls finished the
Thanksgiving weekend with two
losses to the Walkerton
Blackhawks in league play and one
loss to the Kitchener Dutchmen, the
Bulls Jr. B affiliate, in an
exhibition contest.
On Friday night, the Bulls
travelled to Walkerton for the first
of two this weekend against the
Blackhawks. As has been the story
with all the Bulls games this year,
they came out flying and scored the
first goal on a sharp-angled blast
from the corner by Tim Zaba, with
Dan Sinclair assisting on the goal at
the 10:01 mark of the first period.
Walkerton tied it up on a
powerplay. The game was tied into
the first intermission.
The second period was all
Walkerton with them scoring four
unanswered goals to take a 5-1 lead
into the second period intermission.
The Bulls opened the scoring in
the third period on a goal by Ryan
Wright, that assisted by Steve
Henderson and Darin Alviano. It
looked like they had some
momentum going until an
interference penalty which slowed
the Bulls attack. Then another
penalty later, Walkerton scored on

The fall fundraising campaign is
swinging into high gear with Royal

The monies raised go towards
a powerplay which essentially
finished the Bulls hopes of a
comeback. Seventeen seconds after
the Blackhawks scored on the
powerplay they scored again to put
the final nail in the coffin. The
game ended with Walkerton
winning 7-2.
On Saturday night the Bulls
hosted the league leading Kitchener
Dutchmen of the Mid-West Jr. B
loop. The Dutchmen showed why
they are league leaders with
pinpoint passing and excellent
playmAking. The few fans that
showed up -to see this all-Ontario
contender were treated to some
talented hockey playing and some
players that 'Could possibly end up
playing in the NHL. The final score
was 7-0 for Kitchener over the
Bulls.
After the game both teams were
treated to delicious pizza courtesy
of JR's Gas Bar & Takeout who
was the game sponsor for the
evening.
On Thanksgiving Sunday, the
Bulls travelled back to Walkerton
for a 1 p.m. game against their foes
from Friday night, seeking revenge
all the way. This time Walkerton
scored first on an 18:14 powerplay

programs and public education.
goal and then later on a 6:21
shorthanded goal and proceeded to
take a 2-0 lead to the first
intermission.
At 16:14 of the second period,
Sinclair, assisted by Brian
McNichol, made it a one-goal
game. At 3:12 on a powerplay,
Walkerton regained their two-goal
lead, then two minutes later made it
4-1 and took a three-goal advantage
into the third period.
In the third at 18:21 Walkerton
made it 5-1 before Alviano,
assisted by Wright and Henderson
made the score 5-2, then on a
powerplay Sinclair got his second
of the day on a feed from
McNichol and Gary Staples which
made the score 5-3. Walkerton
ended the scoring on a short-
handed goal which made the final
score 6-3 in favour of the
Blackhawks.
The Bulls put in a good effort in
this game. They outshot, outhustled
and outworked the Blackhawks, but
the puck wasn't bouncing their way
in this one.
The next game for the Bulls will
be at home against the Kincardine
Bulldogs for a 2 p.m. start on this
Sunday, Oct. 27.
