A special thank you is also given to all the organizations, businesses and individuals, who supported the parade by sponsoring bands or Shriner units. The many float entries were also very much appreciated. Your efforts and support culminated in one of the best parades ever. The parade committee also deserves a great deal of credit for all the hard work and long hours that was given to organizing this spectacular event. The committee gratefully acknowledges the work that was undertaken by many of the community's organizations, groups, businesses and service clubs. Your efforts and support provided for a fun-filled and memorable weekend. The boys and girls soccer teams competed against schools from Turnberry, Grey, Howick, Wing- ham and Brussels. The tournament was held at Grey Central Public School. They demonstrated excellent skills and sportsmanship in all of their games. Although they did not win a lot of games they thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to meet new friends and play in a friendly competition. Mr. and Mrs. Gamer Nicholson visited with Dr. Ray and Cindy Nicholson, Victoria and Alexandra of Elmira. They attended the wedding of Sherri Nicholson, daughter of Ron and Lynda Nicholson of Barrie and David Mathis, son of Bob and Mona Mathis of Kitchener. Steve Coultes of Melbourne, Australia, was home the end of September with his parents Dr. Glen and Dorothy Coultes. He visited with many friends and relatives. He took part in the Flatt- Reavie wedding on Sept. 27 in Members gratefully recognize the support given by the village of Blyth, through the loan of $1,000 to help get the Homecoming project started. The committee also thanks Clerk-Treasurer John Stewart, for the assistance and many efforts he made toward the Homecoming weekend. At the October meeting of Homecoming ' 96, the following business was conducted. The loan of $1,000 from the Village of Blyth will be repaid immediately. The following donations will be made: $500, Blyth Public School; $300, Blyth Fire Department; $100, Greenaway Project; $25, Crime- stoppers. At the beginning of 1997, the balance of the profits will be handed over to the Blyth Public The cross-country team travelled to the Wingham Golf and Curling Club for a meet on Tuesday, Oct. 1. Several of the runners placed very well: Mite Boys, Levi Cook, ninth; Tyke Girls, Kristen Palmer, fourth; Atom Girls, Laura Meier, third, Kerri Meier, sixth; Atom Boys, Devin Moffatt, second; Bantam Boys, Tyler Fenton, second, Justin Campbell, eighth. London. Colleen Irwin, Abbey, Adam and Alex of Port Carling were weekend visitors at Betty Irwin's. Lorna Irwin, Thomas and Sean of Churchill spent Friday night with Betty Irwin. Visitors are welcome at the home of Ferne and Edgar Howatt at Lot 30 Conc. 6, East Wawanosh Twp. They both have a hobby from an early age. Edgar's was plowing, which he stopped a few years ago. Ferne's was catering, baking and helping and showing at fairs. She still does to a small degree. School. A copy of the Homecoming Financial Statement and a list of Homecoming names will be placed at the Clerk's office. Souvenirs are still available at Stitches by M.J.
