CLEMENT CAMERON
MCLELLAN
The community is saddened by
the passing of Clement "Clem"
Cameron McLellan, a long-time
member of Morris Twp. council, on
Thtfrsday, Sept. 12, 1996, at the
Health Science Centre, London, at
the age of 74.
McLellan had served as reeve,
deputy-reeve and councillor during
his time in municipal politics.
He-was the beloved husband of
Edna Guy, loving father of Alvin
and Pam McLellan, Carl and Deb-
bie McLellan, Max and Barb
McLellan, all of the Brussels area,
Dave and Dianne McLellan of
Blyth, Pauline and Richard Daugh-
erty of Molesworth, Peggy and
Murray Keffer of Brussels and the
late Kathleen McLellan, the loved
grandfather of 17 grandchildren
and dear brother of Marion and
Mervyn Kritzer of Listowel.
He was predeceased by his par-
ents, Florence and Alvin McLellan.
Rev. Cathrine Campbell officiat-
ed at the service from Melville
Presbyterian Church, Brussels,
Sept. 14.
Pallbearers were Alvin, Max,
Carl and David McLellan, Richard
Daugherty and Murray Keffer.

HANS "FRITZ" VERBEEK
Hans "Fritz" Verbeek of RR1,
Bluevale, passed away suddenly at
St. Joseph's Health Centre, London,
Saturday, Sept. 21, 1996. He was
46.
He was the loved son of Gerrit
and Maria Verbeek of Brussels,
dearly loved companion of Kerri
Jones, beloved father of Tyler Ver-
beck of Bluevale, dear brother of
Alice and her husband, David
Marks, of RR4, Brussels, Jack Ver-
beck and his wife, Judy, of
Atwood, Peter Verbeek and his
wife, Elaine, of Sudbury and Harry
Verbeek of RR2, Bluevale.
The funeral service was held at
Betts Funeral Home, Brussels,
Sept. 24.
Interment was at Brussels Ceme-
tery.
In remembrance, donations to the
Heart and Stroke Foundation would
be appreciated by the family.
KATHLEEN RUTLEDGE
Kathleen "Kitty" Rutledge of
Brussels passed away Thursday,
Sept. 19, 1996. at London Health
Sciences Centre. She was 83.
Mrs. Rutledge was the beloved
wife of the late Hartley Rutledge,
loving mother of Gordon and Mari-
on Rutledge of Brussels and Ken
Rutledge of Owen Sound, loved
grandmother of four grandchildren
and eight great-grandchildren and
dear sister-in-law of Nora Roberts
of England and Doreen Rutledge of
Brussels.
The funeral service was held at
Betts Funeral Home, Brussels, Sept
23.
Pallbearers were John Thyssen,
Ribk Thyssen, Brian Oldridge,
Gary Long, Barry Currie and Greg
Wilson.
Flowerbearers were John Rut-
ledge, Gerald Rutledge and Chad
Rutledge.
Interment was at Brussels Ceme-
tery.
In remembrance, donations to the
Royal Canadian Legion or the
Ontario Lung Association would be
appreciated by the family.

Royal Canadian Legion, Branch
218 conducted a service, Sept. 22.
ALMA JARDINE
Alma Jardine of Wingham,
passed away at London Health Sci-
ences Centre, London, Sunday,
Sept. 22, 1996, at the age of 99.
Mrs. Jardine was survived by her
daughters, Dorothy McDonald of
Brussels, Joyce and her husband,
Jack Hodgins, of Wingham and
daughter-in-law, Mary Jardine of
Hamilton. She will also be missed
by three granddaughterPs, five
grandsons, 14 great-grandchildren
and two great-great-grandchdil-
dren.
Mrs. Jardine was predeceased by
her husband, William Jardine, in
1966, her sons, William and Glenn
Jardine, and her grandson, Neil
McDonald.
Rev. J. Rca Grant officiated at
the Sept. 25 service, at McBumey
Funeral Home, Wingham.
Interment will be at Gorrie
Cemetery.
Memorial donations to Wingham
United Church would be appreciat-
ed as expressions of sympathy.
ANTJE "ANN" DYKSTRA
Antje "Ann" Dykstra of Goderich
Place Retirement, formerly of Clin-
ton, passed away at her son, Mike's
residence at RR2, Clinton, Friday
Sept. 20, 1996.
A member of the Clinton Chris-
tian Reformed Church, Mrs. Dyk-
stra was born in Anjum,
Netherlands on May 21, 1911, to
the late Comeli and Doutzen (Jans-
ma) Postma.
She was the beloved wife of
Uilke Dykstra, who predeceased
her in 1981, dear mother of Doreen
and Murray. Siertsema of Blyth,
Mike and Helen Dykstra of RR2,
Clinton, Kees and Sandra Dykstra
of RR1, Clinton, Leo and Francine
Dykstra of Thornton, Lois and Bill
Van Reenen of Scaforth, Alfred
and Margaret Dykstra of RR1,
Clinton, Margaret and Murray
Klaas of Burlington, Bert and Nel-
lie Dykstra of RR2, Clinton and
Tom and Diane Dykstra of Moore-
field. Mrs. Dykstra is also survived
by 39 grandchildren, 34 great-
grandchildren and two sisters.
She was predeceased by four
brothers.
The funeral service was held at
Clinton Christian Reformed
Church, Sept. 23, with Rev. Jack
Quartel officiating. The organist
was Ruth Ann Schuringa.
Pallbearers were Kees, Mike,
Bert, Alfred, Leo and Tom Dykstra.
Interment was at Clinton Ceme-
tery.
EDNA JOY VODDEN
Edna Joy Vodden of RR1, Lon-
desboro passed away in London,
Sept. 17, 1996. She was 60.
Born in East Wawanosh Twp.,
Nov. 19, 1935, she was the daugh-
ter of the late Earl and Gertrude
(Rere) McNee.
She is survived by her husband,
Kenneth Vodden, whom she wed in
Londesboro, July 2, 1981, and her
children, Debbie and Ian Hulley of
Clinton, Cathy Vella of Toronto,
Vernon and Wendy Vella of New
Minas, Nova Scotia, Wayne and
Nora Vella of Ottawa and Tammy
Vella of Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Mrs. Vodden is remembered by
granddaughters Crystal, Kimberly,
Amanda. Katie, Nicole, Melissa
and Brittany.
She was a sister to Maxine and
Wilex King of Kincardine, Dorothy
and Frank Johnston of Londesboro,
Worthy and Shirley McNee of
RR3, Blyth and Dale and Ken
Weber of South River. She was
predeceased by Robert Vella in
1987.
Rev. Paul Ross of Londesboro
United Church, officiated at the
funeral service which was held at
Beattie-Falconer Funeral Home,
Clinton, Sept. 20.
Bill Vodden was the flowerbear-
er.
Pallbearers were Earl Johnston,
Keigh King, Wade Weber, Bob
Vodden, Ross Nelsen and Ron
Vodden.
