Water difficulty issues arose
twice at the Sept. 3 meeting of
Morris council.
Francis McCutcheon and Neil
Beuermann attended the meeting,
asking council to pay the water
charges to Brussels for Morris
Twp. residents on the edge of the
village, then recover the cost on the
tax bill. Beuermann believes Brus-
sels residents should be charged the
same rate as those in the Belgrave
area.
The matter was tabled until the
next council meeting.
Phil Massey's concerns regarding
water in the basement of his home
at Lot 15, Conc. 3, since the paving
of the road, was brought to council
by Road Superintendent Lloyd
Michie. Massey requested tile be
placed along the road side and up
the front of his house, then filled
with drainage stone. Michie esti-
mated the job would take four to
five hours of backhoe work.
Council authorized the work,
stating this is all that would be
done. Any further work would not
be the responsibility of the town-
ship.
Clerk-Treasurer Nancy Michie
was authorized to advise County
council that Morris Twp. was shar-

ties and that a meeting with Blyth,
Brussels, East Wawanosh and Hul-
lett Twps. had resulted in a consen-
sus of no interest in amalgamation.
Council agreed with Maitland
Engineering Services' report for the
process to proceed with construc-
tion of the Sellers Drain improve-
ments.
After a request from Cam Procter
to use a portion of the unopened
road allowance at Lot 10, Conc. 4
as a driveway, council will investi-
gate liability as well as the other
unopened road allowance at Lot 6,
Conc. 7 being used by a landowner.
If the use is approved an agreement
on title would be required.
Council will tender for a grader
or tandem or single axle truck for
snowplowing for the upcoming
winter.
Lloyd Michie was put in charge
of the Belgrave Wells with Gary
Nicholson as backup.
The road at Conc 9-10 will be
built up where the new bridge was
installed at Lot 27-28.
A donation of $50 was given to
the Huron United Way as well as
the Belgrave Girl Guides for selling
souvenirs at the 140th celebration.

The agricultural land would be
rezoned to AG2-3 to recognize the
close proximity of the barn, thereby
limiting its capacity to 35 beef cat-

and restricting the housing of ani-
mals to the November to April peri-

Huron County Planning Depart-

He also pointed out that severing
