The picture on the Walton page
of the Sept. 18 edition of The Citi-
zen, did depict the Sept. 12 celebra-
tion at the public school though it
was identified incorrectly in the
cutline.
It should have read: Greg Bowers
had the privilege of being the first
official slider on the new play-
ground equipment at Walton Public
The Terry Fox Run was a
highlight at the Walton Public
School this week. The event started
off with a Terry Fox video, which
touched many young hearts, then
teachers and kids either walked, ran
or moved in some fashion, around
the grounds. Donations that were
gathered that day will go to the
Brussels Terry Fox Run.
The cross-country runners are
now going into training for the big
annual run that will be coming up
soon.
The teachers were noting how
every class has gone crazy with
bugs this year. There seems to be
more grasshoppers this fall than
ever. The Grade ones caught two
wood frogs and named them Simba
and Jumper. In fact they have now
written a book about the frogs.
They also have another pet named
Maveric, the preying mantis.
If you have ever heard of Bargain
Harolds or if you have ever
shopped there, you will now be
pleased to know that there is a
similar place to go called Bargain
Hackwells. Audrey and Howard
had a huge yard sale this past
weekend along with their
neighbours down the street the
Couttses and friends. There was a
great turnout. Stay tuned for more
exciting shopping news when the
next sale hits the town on
Thanksgiving weekend.
I ran into someone the other day
who told me that some o]dtimer is
predicting a very harsh winter. He
said that all the signs point to this.
Well, I would really like to know if
there is anyone out there who
knows of some signs that point to a
nice winter.
