The new suites in the River Mill building, have been created by closing in the balconies on five rooms, giving a much larger interi- or that is useable all year round for guests. The suites include either a Jacuzzi large enough for two or a gas fireplace. Nichol said that the expanded rooms will meet the demand for more deluxe accommodation. The Inn already had four deluxe suites but these were booked nearly full time and some customers were unable to get the rooms they want- ed. The cost of the renovations was $80,000. The new suites will rent at $265 a night compared to $195 for the old rooms. The suites will also be available as hospitklity suites for conventions and meetings, Nichol said. Ben- miller is an increasingly popular spot for small conferences and business seminars, hosting up to 60 people at a time. Groups from as far away as California and England have held meetings at the Inn. The facility offers four meeting rooms and a private dining room for up to eight people as well as the regular dining room. Nichol said the summer is the busiest season but the Inn is booked to capacity most weekends in the fall and winter. Most of that business comes from within a two- hour drive of Benmiller, she said, with a surprising amount of it being local people who want a weekend's escape from everyday tensions. "Escape" is also a new word for the new spa service offered to guests and spa patrons. Kathy Schenk of Bayfield, a trained masseuse, began work at the spa earlier in the year. Benmiller Inn now offers a spa package which includes a one hour relaxation mas- sage, lunch at the Inn's Ivey Dining Room and full use of the indoor pool, whirlpool, sauna equipment and trails. The cost if $85. Continued from page 17 Press.
