Kidney Foundation seeks volunteers
Every fall, The Kidney
Foundation of Canada launches one
of its most important national
fundraising efforts.
Throughout September and
October, the Kidney Foundation,
with the help of local businesses,
schools, hospitals, shopping malls

A steering committee has been
set up to direct the merger process
between the Perth District Health
Unit and the Huron County Health
Unit. The main task of the newly
created 'committee will be to
develop the health unit merger plan
and oversee its implementation.
Special funding is being provided
by the Ministry of Health to hire
external consultants to help with
some aspects of the merger.
At their August meetings, both
boards of health approved a formal
letter of understanding for the
merger which is expected to be
completed by September, 1997.
The Merger Steering Committee
includes, members from both
organizations. The Perth repre-
sentatives are: board members
Kathy Rae, Annabell Thomson and
Bob McTavish; Dr. Susan
Tamblyn, medical officer of health;
and Randy Brown, business
administrator.
The Huron representatives are:
board members Ron Murray, Bill
Caan and Jack Coleman; Beth
