There were 358 veal on offer selling: Plain and Heavy Holstein, $78 to $85; Holstein, $90 to $108; Beef, $90 to $123. One gold veal consigned by Eric Scheurwater, Paisley, weighing 585 lbs. sold for $123 to Abbington Meat with his overall consignment of 21 veal weighing an average of 633 lbs. sold for an average of $102.87. Nine veal consigned by Clayton B. Martin, Listowel, averaging 621 lbs. sold for an average of $98.84 with sales to $110. Seven veal consigned by John Verberg, Londesboro, averaging 656 lbs. sold for an average of $101.29 with sales to $110. Lambs, under 50 lbs., sold $105 to $135; 50 to 80 lbs., $120 to $134; and 80 to 95 lbs., $117.50 to Continued on page 15 The sales at Brussels Livestock for the week ending Aug. 30 were: fed cattle, 689; cows, 226; veal calves, 398; lambs and goats, 107; and stockers, 1,360. The fed steers and heifers were selling $2 lower with cows selling steady. On Thursday veal sold $2 - $5 sharply higher. Lambs sold steady. All classes of stockers sold steady. There were 456 steers on offer selling from $88 to $93 to the high of $105. Eight steers consigned by Bill Haines, Wingham, averaging 1,200 lbs. sold for an average of $96.05 with sales to $105. Thirteen steers consigned by Raye Pegg, Tupperville, averaging 1,353 lbs. sold for an average of $91.11 with sales to $98..25. Ten steers consigned by Jim Howatt, Londesboro, averaging 1,239 lbs. sold for an average of $94.35 with sales to $98.25.
