THE CITIZEN, WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 4, 1996 Brussels People Nancy and Murray Procter, Kirk and Andrea from California visited For two weeks with Edna and Ralph Pearson, Nancy's parents and with Don and Marlene Procter, Murray's brother and family. Doreen Dale and Mildred Jacklin_ returned home at 9:30 p.m. on Friday night after a pleasant three- day trip with Travel Ventures .to South Bend, Indiana. The weather was nice and sunny. There are many very worthwhile places to visit in South Bend. One is the Studebaker mansion, home of the former Studebaker car manufacturers. It contains 40 rooms and has 20 beautiful fireplaces. Much of it is finished with the original furniture. They also toured the grounds of the University of Notre Dame Campus, composed of 1,250 meticulously manicured acres, as well as the Basilica of the Sacred Heart and many other attractions. Terry Fox Run needs team member By Bonnie Gropp While plans for the third Brussels Run, to be held Sept. 22 this year, are running smoothly, organizers are searching for someone to lead it. Waneta Leishman of RRS, Brus- sels, whose daughter Aimee was the 1995 Terry's Team Member, says it is important to find someone willing to donate their time for the task as it "puts a face to the dis- ease." Though Leishman says Aimee "had a ball" last year, organizers wouid like to see another individual step forward to participate this year. Joanne King of Brussels was team member in 1994. The Terry Fox Team Member is representative of the spirit that can't be conquered. They are symbolic of the hope and determination neces- sary in fighting cancer. It must be someone who is cur- rently receiving treatment for can- cer or is in remission. Anyone interested in taking the first step on the "road of hope", in Brussels, Sept. 22, is asked to call Leishman at 887-9101 any day after 6 p.m. Sept. 14,1996 BMG Arena 6:00 p.m. Ambassador of the Fair Competition, Beef Barbecue, Fashion Show & Dance.
