Community Access Project answers the questions Is the internet and its usefulness still baffling? Is it something the children want, but the parents don't understand? Well, the Huron Com- munity Access Project (CAP) may answer those questions and more. Developed in co-operation with several local agencies, the project provides an opportunity for the public to access the intemet for free and refine skills for effective use. Participants can book one-hour sessions at any of the nine intemet access locations around the county, until Sept. 1, the end of the pro- gram. Staff is on-hand to assist with the basics and self-help resource mate- rials is provided. The aim of CAP is to allow Huron residents free public access to the internet, to stimulate the development of new electronic learning tools and services, to assist local entrepreneurs and job seekers looking for information, to.provide intemet training facilities and to establish an internet presence for community, business and govern- ment information related to the county. Staff working through CAP are local secondary school students who have had interne opportunities at their schools.
