strategy sessions for students in the
area in the hope of equipping them
with the skills necessary to acquire
a summer job.
We would like to thank all those
who helped to make the summer a
success. It was encouraging to see
so many students who were willing
to do almost any job that was
available to them. However, it was
also discouraging that not all of the
students who were seeking a
summer job were able to find
employment.
As summer employment for
students becomes more scarce, the
Centre has had to seek more and
more community support to keep
students working and earning
money to better their education and
themselves. Having a summer job,
even it is just part-time or casual
labour, helps to boost a student's
confidence and provides him/her
with valuable experience which
will be an important asset in the
future.
Even though the Canada
Employment Centre for Students
has closed its doors for 1996,
students who are searching for
employment or employers looking
for assistance, can continue to use
the main Canada Employment
Centre located at 210 Main St. E.,
in Listowel.
You can drop into the Centre
Monday to Friday from 8:45 a.m.
to 4 p.m. or telephone (519) 291--
2920.
