On Wednesday, June 19, John
Westland from the Substance
Abuse Centre at the Sick Children's
Hospital in Toronto conducted
seminars with Grades 6 to 8 as part
of the school's substance abuse
education program. Students asked
many interesting and thoughtful
questions. We all hope Mr.
Westland's visit will help students
deal with these issues as they
mature.
Last Friday Mrs. Tedesco's two
kindergarten classes went to the
conservation area for a picnic with
their parents. After several activity
songs and games everyone enjoyed
the lunch. Special thanks to Mrs.
Kerkhof, who provided a specially
decorated cake with all the
children's names written on the
icing. The children explored the
creek and the dam on the way back
to school.
We want to thank Mrs. Cousins,
Mrs. Tedesco and Mrs. Beutten-
miller for all they have done for
students in our school during their
