GERALD MCCAULEY
Gerald McCauley of Brussels
passed away at his residence on
Saturday, June 22, 1996. He was
48.
Gerald was a man who will be
remembered for his warmth and
genuine affection for others. To
meet this true 'gentle' man was to
make a friend.
Always there when help was
needed, he demonstrated the true
value of friendship. He was a kind
affable man, who will be deeply
missed by the many who knew and
loved him.
Gerald was the hPloved husb-ind
of the former Beth Pennington. He
was the dear father of Steven
McCauley and the loved son of
Dorothy McCauley of Brussels and
son-in-law of Mary Pennington of
Winthrop. He was the dear brother
of Don of Goderich and Buck of
Scbringville.
He was predeceased by his father
Mervin in 1963 and his father-in-
law Jack Pennington in 1980.
The McCauley family received
friends at Betts Funeral Home,
Brussels on Monday evening. A
memorial service was held the fol-
lowing day at 2 p.m. Rev. Nancy
Beale officiated.
Cremation has taken place.
In remembrance donations to the
Community Nursing Services,
General Delivery, Belgrave, NOG
1E0 or the Canadian Cancer Soci-
ety would be. appreciated by the
family.
T. BAILIE PARROTT
T. Bailie Parrott of Huronview,
formerly of Morris Twp., passed
away June 18, 1996.
Mr. Parrott was the reeve of Mor-
ris Twp. from 1954 to 1960, sat as
a councillor and, for 13 years, was
a member of the Western Star Odd-
fellows Lodge #149, Brussels,
holding all posts during his mem-
bership.

Champions and record breakers
May 21 was a very good day for the athletes at Blyth Public School as they broke several
records on their way to championships. Champs are, in back, from left: Shanda Loder,
Senior Girls; Brian Sherred, Intermediate Boys; Darrell McDougall, Senior Boys and Devin
Shannon, Junior Boys. In front, from left: Candi Bearss, Midget Girls; Ashley Taylor,
Intermediate Girls; Jamie Lewis, Junior Girls and Cole Stewart, Midget Boys. McDougall tied
the triple jump record at 10 metres. Stewart broke the softball throw record with 45.06
metres and the high jump mark at 1.3 metres. Loder ran 800 metres in 3:15.13 while Taylor
did it in 2:57.18 and topped off the high jump level at 1.32 metres. Other records were
broken by Jenna Taylor, Midget girls 200 metres, 35.18 seconds; Charlene Bromley, Midget
Girls triple jump, 7.32 metres; Jenny Ritchie, Junior Girls softball throw, 40.50 metres and
Justin Peters, Midget Boys triple jump, 45.06 metres.
