Reeve Donald Schultz. The Afternoon Unit of the UCW met June 11 in the Sunday School room with 10 members present. Audrey Fenton opened the meeting with a short reading from the Daily Bread devotional booklet. The minutes of the May meeting were read and approved. A thank you note was read from Janisa Coultes. Kay Roberts led the worship service. The meditation was entitled "Summer Ground". Mabcl's Moms met on Wednes- day, June 19. Those who attended were: Sherri Sippel, Christi, Scott and Daniel; Andrea Stevenson, Mathew, Tyler and Spencer; Kim Higgins and Laura; Linda Hess and Andrew; Donna Raynard, Trevor and Heidi; Candace Chaffe, Cameron, Brandon and Austin; Rev. Mary Jane Hobden and Stephen; Lila Procter and Ben; Connie Shiell, Christopher and Ada Taylor was in charge of the Bible Study which continued on with the book of Matthew. It was entitled "Warfare of the King's Messengers." Alice Scott was able to attend. She conducted the Mission Study. Mrs. Scott chose to tell of missionary work which had taken place in Japan over the years. Mrs. Fenton closed the meeting by wishing everyone a happy summer holiday. The Lord's Prayer was repeated in unison. Andrea; Alice Yuill and Claren; Sandra Dorsch and Melinda. Their topic was "Summer Activities". Following a delicious potluck luncheon the mothers presented Mabel with a bouquet of cut mixed flowers. Between Oct. 25 and June 19 28 meetings had been held with an average attendance of 22. Courtney McGee was the to Grade 7 student from EWPS in the Gauss math contest. Julie Woodley and Colleen Van Camp were the top Grade 8 students. Congratula- tions to all of these students. Senior gets award at WI meeting Continued from page 10 made a fitting reply. Her son and daughter-in-law, Murray and Wilma Scott, were in attendance and photos were taken of the happy occasion. President Audrey Fenton read a history of the Bclgrave WI and Sarah Anderson cut the birthday cake. Ruth Gordon was the program convenor. She showed a video titled "The Joy of Stress". The video taught how to use humor to combat stress and was quite enjoyable. The meeting closed with the singing of Grace, cake and ice cream and a pink carnation were distributed to all.
