George Pearson and the former
Isabel Cardiff were married on
June 22, 1946 in Ethel United
Church by Rev. Stanley Brenton.
The bride was attended by Helen
(Pearson) Swift, Jean (Cardiff)
Wolfe and flowergirl Marlene
(Hewitt) Tulk. The best man was
Jack Cardiff and ushers were Ralph
Pearson and Bob Bremner.
Following a honeymoon trip to
the Muskoka Lakes, the Pearsons
returned to Grey Twp., where they
farmed. From 1947-1957, George
was a merchant of a hardware busi-
ness, then he returned to farming
once again, also working part-time
at the Brussels Sales Barn.
The couple raised four children,
Bob, Don, Bill and Jeanne (Mrs.
Don Fischer). They now have eight
grandchildren and two great-grand-
children.
Both have been active communi-
ty people with George serving as
Grey Township council held its
regular meeting on June 17 and
accepted the tender of Joe Kerr Ltd.
for the supply of 14,200 metric
tonnes A gravel and 55,000 metric
tonnes B gravel to the Cranbrook
Sideroad reconstruction.
The Kerr tender amounting to
$156,844.20 was the lowest of six
tenders received. Construction is
expected to commence the week of

George and Isabel Pearson of Ethel.

The annual Smith family reunion
celebrated 25 years with 100 in
attendance.
The event was hosted by Grace
Smith and Glenna Seddon and was
held at the Grey Central School.

of music has involved him in sever-
al groups including the church
choir, of which he has been a mem-
ber for 60 years. He also sang in
quartets and in a men's chorus in
Atwood. George is a member of the
Oddfellows.
Isabel spends her time helping
with the church group, as a member
of the Women's Institute and
sewing.
The couple was feted at Grey
Central School during an open
house, Saturday and with a family
dinner at Ethel Community Centre.
Special guests were their atten-
dants, aunt and uncle, Frank and
Kae Lawless of Alliston, and aunts
Ethel and Florence Brown from
Gorrie and Kitchener.

London, Kitchener, Atwood, Cur-
rie, Listowel, Brussels and Ethel.
