Jackie Seevers, a Belgrave Guide, centre was the
recipient of a provincial certificate for selling over 50
boxes of cookies during the spring campaign. She is now

Hosp. Aux. holds meeting

On June 4, the Belgrave, Brussels
Beef 4-H Club met at the home of
Leslie Caldwell.
We talked about judging cattle.
Following our discussion Leslie
provided four heifers for us to
The annual meeting of the
Wingham Hospital Auxiliary was
held in the boardroom, commenc-
ing with dessert and coffee, served
by the social committee Marlene
Leedham and Diane Doolittle.
President Margaret MacLeod
opened with "The Goose Story",
which indicated that organizations
which work closely together, travel
faster and accomplish more in a
shorter span of time. This was
followed by the Hospital Auxiliary
prayer.
The different convenors read
their general reports in brief, as
their annual reports were later
given in detail.
Reports were given by those
attending the Region 2 Conference
in Guelph on April 22, namely:
Margaret MacLeod, Myrla Frank,
Shirley Kaufman, Lorna Stuart and
Helen Daugherty. Guest speaker
for the day was Dr. Anne Louise
Sclater on the topic "Successful
Aging". Reports were given on the
afternoon workshops attended that
day: How Does Bill 26 Affect
Volunteers, and Bedside
Gardening.
The Fall conference will take
place in Cambridge on Sept. 30.
The blood donor clinic was well
attended and blood supplies
replenished.
Annual reports were read and
accepted. The official slate of

On Sunday, June 16 the annual
Belgrave Knox United Church
Sunday School anniversary and
chicken barbecue was held.
The congregation of Knox and
Calvin Brick, accompanied by
Elizabeth Procter on the organ and
Joanne Robinson on the piano,
joined Lila Procter as she led the
singing of Rejoice in the Lord
Always as a two part round.
Paul Walker, acting as service
leader, directed the call to worship
and the prayer of approach. The
Sonshine Singers, in their signature
bright yellow t-shirts led by Lila
Procter and accompanied by Joanne
Robinson enthusiastically sang This
is the Day and A Great Big God.
Jason McBurney read the
scripture, second letter of John 4-6
and 1 Samuel 17, 37-50.
Ruth and Margie Gordon once
again demonstrated their superb
ability to create entertaining puppet
theatre with a message. Two plays
were presented, "Hobart Learns He
is Important" and "The Giant".
Ruth and Margie were assisted by
Nicole Walker, Shawn Cottrill,
Paul Walker, George Procter, Lila
Procter, Scott Folkard, Jennie Hopf
and Michele Nixon. Ruth Gordon
thanked all the participants and the
service closed with the singing of
Tell Me the Story of Jesus.
Elly Van Bergen said grace and
gave the benediction. The
congregation then sang Go Now In
Peace before heading downstairs
and outdoors to once again enjoy
the succulent chicken prepared by
Cam Procter and his crew.
Lorna Cook has returned from
visiting her son, Marvin and his
family in Deloraine, Man. While
there she attended the big 4-H rally
held on Saturday in Boissevain.
Her granddaughter, Alaina had the
champion calf in her division in the
Deloraine beef club.
Thelma and Kevin Pletch spent
some holidays with Max, Lynne,
Krista and Andrea Pletch at
Dryden. While there they were
guests at Max's retirement dinner
and dance.
Sympathy is extended to the Rinn
family in the sudden passing of
Elroy Kuntz, husband of Betty
Kuntz (Rinn), Kitchener. He died at
University Hospital, London after a
brief illness. May your thoughts
and prayers be with the family in
their time of sorrow.
Mr. and Mrs. Albert Cook, Mr.
and Mrs. Garner Nicholson, Bel-
grave and Mrs. Margaret Robinson,
and Mrs. Ernie Crawford, Goderich
visited last Tuesday with Mr. and
Mrs. Jack Walker, Goderich. Also
visiting there were their cousins
Mr. and Mrs. Richard Johnston
from England and their friend from
Toronto.
Mr. and Mrs. Garner Nicholson
and Annie Cook, Belgrave, Mr. and
Mabel's Moms met at their
regular time on Wednesday, June
12. Present were: Donna Raynard,
Trevor and Heidi; Rev. Mary Jane
Hobden and Stephen; Lila Procter
and Ben; Andrea Stevenson,
Mathew, Tyler and Spencer; Kim
Mrs. Jack Walker, Mrs. Margaret
Robinson, Mrs. Zella Crawford of
Goderich and Mr. and Mrs. James
Walsh, Blyth attended a 50th
birthday open house for June Cook,
Clinton. The Huron Strings of
Clinton were the entertainment.
The Group Home served a
delicious lunch.
Les Shaw returned home from
Clinton Hospital last week. Every-
one wishes Les a speedy recovery.
The Belgrave United Church
Country Social will be held on
Saturday, June 22 in the United
Church basement and the Women's
Institute Hall. There will be home
baking, penny auction, plants and
produce, crafts and miscellaneous,
youth group activities, and a
children's corner starting at 4 p.m.
with a cold meat and salad supper
from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. Everyone is
welcome.
Ashley Irwin was a guest last
weekend at the home of her
grandmother Betty Irwin.
Karen and Jamie McCallum,
Jason and Ryan Fear were supper
guests last Saturday at the cottage
of John, Linda, Jeremy and Justin
Campbell. Jason Fear was an over-
night guest Saturday evening and
enjoyed some of the attractions at
Grand Bend on Sunday.
