Morgan and Brandon Armstrong were just a few of the
many who visited Brussels Fire Hall, June 16 to enjoy a
tasty breakfast of eggs, bacon, sausage and toast. To the
children's delight, the firefighters offered a trip around

On June 5 the Brussels UCW
held its regular meeting in the
basement of the church with a good
attendance. Alice Brothers enter-
tained at the piano while the
members gathered.
The meeting began with the
singing of "Grace' followed by
delicious desserts. Isabelle
Wheeler, then opened the meeting
with a poem and the hymn Come
Let Us Sing of a Wonderful Love.
Scripture, taken from Luke 6,
verses 27 - 36, was read by Audrey
Cardiff, followed by prayer.
Alice Brothers entertained with a
piano selection. A reading "The
Road That Counts", the topic
"What have We to Serve With?"
and the poem "Do It Now" were all
done by Isabelle.
Rev. Cam McMillan sang two
solos, I Believe and Bluebird of
Happiness with Mrs. Brothers
accompanying them. Mrs. Wheeler
read a poem about "Volunteers".
The special part of the meeting
opened with Isabelle reading about
UCW members. Sarah Stephenson
ushered Jean Bridge to a chair at
the front, then told about Jean, her
work as secretary and helper on the
catering group, as well as her
involvement in Lodge.
Luella Mitchell ushered Ida
Evans to her chair. Luella said Ida
is a true friend and helper even to
hulling strawberries when Luella
was busy. Ida was a willing worker
on the catering group and often
asked "Is that all you need?" She is
involved in Institute and

The three were and still are
faithful to the UCW. Their
