Drug use among Ontario teens, is on the rise particularly for Grade 11 males. This is just one of the statistics obtained by the Addiction Research Foundation (ARF) though a student drug use survey. It is not only the use of alcohol, tobacco and cannabis which has jumped significantly since 1993, but glue, methamphetamines, hallu- cinogens, PCP, cocaine and ecsta- sy. The most commonly used drugs in Huron County are alcohol, cannabis and hallucinogens, with the latter two seeing a considerable increase. Cannabis use jumped from 12.7 per cent in 1993 to 22.7 per cent in .995, involving both males and females. For parents, educators, youth workers or anyone else interested in information regarding drug use, an information night will be held Thursday, June 13 at 7:30 p.m. at the Huron County Health and Library Complex, Clinton.
