Surrounding it
A trio of players from opposing sides, including Blyth's Jessica Aldrich, left, move around the
ball during the soccer action in Belgrave last week. Members of the Blyth Atoms have come
up winningly against teams from Clinton and Wingham to get their season off to a great
start. While the Blyth soccer field is shaping up, all Blyth Minor Soccer games will still be
played in Belgrave until further notice.
Blyth Atoms on winning streak
The BlythAtoms soccer squad is
off to a great start, capturing three
wins in their first three games.
The first two victories came over
the Clinton Marauders, May 14 and
the Wingham Cheetahs, May 21.
When Blyth travelled to Wing-
ham, May 28 to take on the Wing-
ham Fast Flyers, the visitors were
again victorious.
With goals scored by Steve Van
Amersfoort, Mike Bonear and
Jamie Ross, Blyth earned a 3-0
win.
Van Amersfoort and Sarah Slote-
graaf earned assists on the scoring
plays.
All Blyth soccer games will be
played in Belgrave until further
notice, so come out and support the
teams.
Hop, step and grimace
Cody McGee of East Wawanosh Public School appears
as if he isn't quite sure about his next move as he
participates in the triple jump during track and field day,
May 31.
Blyth Tykes win
It was a well-played ball game
for the first contest of the season
when the Blyth Tykes Houseleague
squad took on Auburn, May 28.
The visiting Auburn team was
unable to outscore the hometown-
ers, going home on the short end of
a 28-19 loss.
