THE CITIZEN, WEDNESDAY, MAY 22, 1996 Legion celebrates 50 years of service Blyth Legion is celebrating 50 years of service on May 24. Branch 420 of the Royal Canadian Legion was chartered on May 29, 1946 with a membership of 19 veterans. The first meeting of veterans to form a Legion was held in Borden Cook's egg grading station.
