Dining Out
Twenty-seven diners were in
attendance when Brussels Diners
met at the United Church on
Thursday, April 25.
Tara Ferguson, co-ordinator, read
a poem about volunteers and noted
how important volunteers are to
this group. She presented each
volunteer and advisory board
member with a carnation in
recognition of National Volunteer
Month.
Student volunteers are extremely
important and helpful to the group
as well. Students this week were
Betty Bodfield and Mike Comeau.
The entertainment was on
gardening. Nelva Scott did a skit on
how not to indoor garden, while
Ruth Sauve gave the guidance and
direction required to plant and
transplant seeds and cuttings. She
also led a lesson on how to make
earthless soil.
The 50/50 draw was won by
Ruth Galbraith and the door prize
was woo by Jim Mair.
