Blyth Minor Hockey will begin the 1996-97 season with a new executive. At the April 17 meeting President Neil Salverda impressed upon the people who attended that most positions in the executive were open for new members, including his position. If these were left unfilled: the minor hockey system would not be. able to function when the next season begins this fall. All present felt that minor hockey being continued for the community youth was beneficial. With this in mind several people stepped forward to volunteer their time. The new executive will be president, Ken Stewart; first vice, Steve Cook; treasurer, Diane Ferguson; secretary, Sharon Wilson; ice co- ordinator, Linda Stewart; fund- raising, Jeff Peters; equipment Manager, Al Craig and Referee-in- Chief, Keith Loder. The position of second vice remains open. The next meeting will be held Wednesday, May 15 at 8 p.m., upstairs in the arena.
