for Choosing Natural Gas
Union Gas is very pleased to be serving North Huron.
Since September, over 300 homes and businesses in your
area have switched to natural gas. They're now enjoying
the energy savings and environmental benefits of natural
gas and natural gas products.
So, thank you for being EnerSmart and choosing natural
gas. Because your business is important to us, we'll do
everything we can to provide you with superior customer
service.
I lowever, there's no getting around the inconvenience that
sometimes comes with building a pipeline. Lawns are dug
up, traffic can be diverted, and driveways are sometimes
blocked. Your patience while things were under construc-
tion was appreciated. If our construction caused you any
inconvenience, we apologize.
Spring Clean-Up
Now that the wintry weather is upon us, immediate repair
to lawns, and driveways is not possible. However, come
spring, we will be back with grass seed, top soil and cement
to restore your property to its original condition.
For More Information
If you have any questions about the project, the restora-
tion of your property or about how natural gas can benefit
you, please give us a call. We're always happy to help.

Former- Blyth Bulldogs play to win with Exeter Hawks
Two recent graduates of the
Blyth Minor Hockey system
completed their season on the
weekend as they helped the Exeter
Hawks to an Ontario Hockey
Association Junior Development
All-Ontario Championship.
Former Bulldogs Jason Rutledge
and Ryan Chamney, both residents
of Auburn, joined their teammates
to claim the championship in an
exciting seven game final series
victory over the Wellesley Apple
Jacks. The series featured excep-
tional goaltending and fast skating
two-way play by two talented and
determined hockey teams.
After completing an impressive
regular season first overall with a
record of 30 wins, four losses and
four ties, the Hawks opened the
playoffs against the North
Middlesex Stars. Exeter eliminated
a physic& Stars squad in six games
with both Chamney and Rutledge
scoring in the deciding game.
The Hawks then faced off in the
Morenz Division Final against the
speedy Seaforth Centenaires.
Exeter faced a stiff challenge as
they battled back from a 3-2
Seaforth series lead to end the
Centenaires season in a bitter seven
game showdown. Chamney
notched the winning goals in
Exeter's first two victories of the
series. Rutledge was inserted into
the line-up late in the series and he
contributed with an assist and some

triumph.
This Conference victory sent the
Hawks into the All-Ontario Finals
against the Wellesley Apple Jacks.
Wellesley puck stopper Brad
Brennamen was the difference in
the series as the Hawks outshot the
Apple Jacks by a 2-1 margin in
every game. He saw more rubber
than a dead skunk on the 401 and
was up for the challenge, almost
single-handedly leading his team to
the game seven showdown.
A veteran combination kept
Rutledge out of the line-up during
the series but Chamney contributed
with gritty two-way play through-
out, until an injury forced him to
the sidelines for game seven.
Wellesley stunned the Hawks 4-1
on April 7 in the series opening
game but Exeter rebounded with 5-
2,7-2 and another 5-2 win to take a
3-1 series lead. Wellesley refused
to give up and they fought their
way back into the series with
consecutive overtime wins.
The Apple Jacks shaded the
Hawks 4-2 in overtime in game
five. Exeter held a 4-3 lead in game
six and appeared headed for victory
until some late game heroics forced
overtime, which Wellesley won in
the second overtime period.
This forced a one game
showdown on April 20 in a
spectacular hockey game that
featured end-to-end action and
outstanding goaltending by
Wellesley's Brad Brennamen and
Exeter's Dave Nahrgang. Exeter
claimed the OHA Junior
Development crown in a 2-1 heart
stopper that wasn't secured until the
final buzzer.
When asked about the victory
Chamney said, "I was made to feel
welcome even before the first
workouts last fall and I am very
happy to have contributed and help
bring an All-Ontario Championship
to the Hawks organization. This
experience ranks with the All-
Ontario Bantam Championship I
was a part of in Blyth."
Rutledge reiterated those
comments and added, "It felt great
to win another all-Ontario Cham-

This emotional victory catapulted
the Hawks into the Yeck Confer-
ence Final against the defending
OHA Junior Development League
Champion Thamesford Trojans.
Exeter had to come from behind in
every game as they sent the Trojans
to the showers for the last time on
April 4 in a tight five game series.
Exeter won the series opener with a
2-1 squeaker as Rutledge assisted
on Exeter's first goal.
The Hawks took a 2-0 series lead
with a thrilling 5-4 overtime win as
Rutledge set up the game winning
goal. Another 5-4 score gave
Exeter a commanding 3-0 series
lead but they couldn't complete the
sweep as Thamesford rebounded
for a 5-3 victory although Chamney
netted one of the Hawk's goals.
